For the m3u files open a txt and write there the name of the discs withs its extensions like:
Game Disc 1.chd
Game Disc 2.chd
Then save it with whatever name you want such as: Game Disc.m3u
With a manual scan it will be within your Saturn playlist.
Btw .chd are ripped extensions to save space on your physical discs in case you are interested.
I played the game up to the end of disc 1 having two folders, one named "Deep Fear (Europe) (Disc 1)" which contained "Deep Fear (Europe) (Disc 1).cue" file (and its tracks). Then, another folder named "Deep Fear (Europe) (Disc 2)" which contained "Deep Fear (Europe) (Disc 2).cue" file and (its tracks). Having these two folders that way made retroarch think both folders were different games, so swapping discs failed. I also had a savestate in position 2 with the game asking to switch discs.
To make swapping discs to work start putting both discs files in the same folder (doesn't matter the name). Then, create a file named "Deep Fear (Europe).m3u", that file must contain the following two lines:
Deep Fear (Europe) (Disc 1).cue
Deep Fear (Europe) (Disc 2).cue
You have now created "a new game" (the .m3u file) which contains both disks, so now swapping will work. Now, you need to copy the save state of the game you were playing for this "new game" bundle. Go to folder "RetroArch/states/Bettle Saturn", then copy your "Deep Fear (Europe) (Disc 1).state2" (this is the second slot savestate, but you can pick the one that had your latests save) and copy the file as "Deep Fear (Europe).state2".
You have all the files set, now launch retroarch, and load the "Deep Fear (Europe).m3u" as the game, and Bettle Saturn as core. Then, enter retroarch menu and load the save state (position 2 in this case). Now, load again retroarch menu, go to disc control, then eject disc, select disc index 2 (will display "Deep Fear (Europe) (Disc 2)"), and finally insert disc. Sega saturn bios menu will load, just launch application and that would be it.
Hope that helps!
