Platformers, I play a lot of Rocket Knight Adventures for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. Shoot'em ups, I play Einhander, R-type and Gradius.
On the more obscure side of things, I played a lot of "Baroque". It's a Japanese only game but it's been fully translated in English. The game is basically a first person Roguelike dungeon crawler.
º SMA2: S. Mario World (mGBA) always played the snes version but I'm loving this one.
º SMW2: Yoshi's Island (Snes9x) never played this, only tried some levels and there's something that doesn't convince me about this. It looks more childish than SMW1 but it's kinda harder sometimes.
º S. Mario 64 (mupen64next plus) same as above don't really understand how to keep progressing as I can enter whatever pictures I want but at the same time I need to re enter to gather more stars the lack of map/path confuses me.
º Wario Land 3 (SameBoy IIRC): this is my second run. I've played mario land 1, 2, 3 and 4 on VBA years ago on VBA and I liked 2 and 3 so guess I'll I'll continue with 2 and 4 when I'm done with 3.
º Shoujo Kakumei Utena (beetle Saturn): I loved the series now I'm enjoying this visual novel or whatever it is.
And eventually I play mame games especially beat 'em ups inviting a friend via parsec such as Simpsons, Vendetta, etc. Like 2 weeks ago I've finished Pocky and Rocky (snes9x) online too. Want to play Final Fight 2 again (snes9x), etc.
I'm also planning to play GEX for swanstation, Zelda Ocarina 3D for Citra and The Thing for pcsx2 when I learn how get rid of glitches, I want to play it here despite it works perfectly on the standalone emu.
Mario 64 is a great game since you choose which level you want to do: each level have 6 different missions (+ the 100 coins star).
Exactly it's pretty simple the first levels but the difficulty curve escalates gradually plus I've never played it and finished SMW1 tons of times that feels weird to me. I just want to finish it once and I know if I like it. So far I prefer SMW and SMB3 as my classic faves. Also liked SMW2 a lot.
Yeah that's why I want to finish it too. I know about its so many good reviews. I managed to play, understand and love Ocarina so this can't be harder. The so many re-enters for new missions is a bit boring and frustrating tbh though. Also some platforms where you are near the edge are dangerous as you fall and have to start again from below. But so far I like it more than SMW2. Those are 2 of my many unfinished business lol.
I read on the PCSX2 wiki that the game has all kinds of emulation problems but it's working just fine and looks great upscaled
Dunno if playing S.M.A.4: SMB3 or Super Princess Peach from DS.
Did anyone complete S.P. Peach? Seems very fun. SMB3 is one of my faves but similar to S.M. World never ever had I played the GBA version (which is supposed to be the definitive at least I liked it more than SNES in case of World).
I can clearly tell that I prefer New Super Mario Bros on the DS over it but Super Mario World (the SNES one) is probably my favorite of the bunch (with Super Mario Land and Super Mario Advance 1).
