XBox 360 and PS3 games?
I’m desperate to play The Darkness on my PC. Can Reoarch run Xbox 360 and PS3 emulators?

RA does not support those systems. You can search the standalone emulators though. Seems to work fine with rpcs3.

What Daegoth said. You're much better off getting RPCS3 or Xenia Standalone emulators.

Ok, thanks. Any preference between the two emulators?

I personally like RPCS3 more, but The Darkness works fine on both emulators. As long as you have an enough powerfull PC, you're good to go on either of them.

I’ve used RSPC3 n my Steam Deck and noticed a sort of tapping noise during gameplay. Sort of like that rhythmic percussive beat Hans Zimmer is so fond of.

RPCS3 does not work properly on the Deck and will not work properly anytime soon. Sure, some games work but your compatibility drops significantly. You really need a powerfull PC to run the games at full speed.

Ah, maybe Steam Deck 2 then?

Update: I downloaded RSPC3 and The Darkness. Unfortunately that game only runs at 720p and with zero antialiasing. It looks terrible on my large 50” OLED.
I’ve heard that RSPC3 has FSR now, how would I get a d implement it for a game like The Darkness?

You must be doing something wrong. RPCS3's compatibility list says it's playable and even on 60fps. You can google it and check on their site. I can't link it cuz it's not RA related.

You have options to increase resolution and you have to move the resolution scale trheshold below aswell. If you want to use FSR, simply go to Output Scaling and set it to FidelityFX Super Resolution. This is all done in the GPU tab in the options menu btw,

Unfortunately fsr didn’t help much. The jaggies from not having any antialiasing on make this a really ugly game

The Darkness is one of those games that is cannot be upscaled from its native 720p resolution at the moment. You will not fair any better on Xenia as The Darkness has lighting issues. If you must play The Darkness, you will have to play at 720p.

I am just baffled the The Darkness II is on Steam, but not the original. Perhaps it is time for a remaster or remake of both games for all major platforms.

Ot just looks to bad to be playable tbh. Hopefully one day they’ll get this game running properly or we’ll get a pc release

The only REAL reason you would choose retroarch over a standalone emulator, is for steam's "Remote play together" function. If you're not interested in that, don't use Retroarch.
