best ps2 core ? im new to this not sure what is for ps2

It's not on Steam, you have to get it somewhere else. Download Retroarch from the official website and copy it's contents to the Retroarch Steam folder. This will allow you access to the online updater so that you can get the PS2 core.

Use standalone pcsx2 till they update something on libretro if they ever do. That's the best ps2 (standalone) core so far.

Copypaste standalone ra over steam's.

yeah since I think the SD version is a native linux build, but I imagine you could transfer the cores folder to the SD version after downloading them from the nonsteam version

I am talking about the online updater with RA not the cores. Some ppl dont know there way around linux/steam deck and like a more simple way. The files are different so the basic just copy and paste doesnt work with deck users so im just trying to save everyones time banging there heads over this as a deck user =)

Also, Launchbox is pretty sweet
