Doesn't work, and when I type dir it doesn't give me a file list. So I'm not sure where dosbox pure even starts when I load the game or image.
Failure to cd, with example of disc structure in explorer[puu.sh]
Type d: and press enter
then cd shannara or dir
DosBox Pure starts you at c:\, this is your virtual hard drive you can install too and the .iso content you loaded is at d:\ your virtual disk drive.
I get this response when I try.[puu.sh]
You should now be in the root directory of your virtual CD, and calling DIR should show you the list of files. I don't know how this program installs, but you can probably just execute
I'll try this out when I can
Works on other games, it's just this one. Most likely because all the .exe files are an extra level deep. I've tried loading from my tray with the real disc and loading from the image retroarch ripped using the cue. Results are the same.
Ex: I tried loading the first disc of Harvester from the steam copy (which just uses dosbox) and pure loaded it fine.
This allows the game to work, but as a one shot deal. I have to go through the entire process to play again, and a save test proved that it didn't maintain saves either.
Not sure why you gave this explanation, I'm already loading from cue. I said as much, and I've also tried reading from tray. Dosbox pure just refuses to read them because the root directory doesn't contain any useful exes.
One would then guess, it's the image file that retroarch ripped. But it looks fine in windows when mounted, and on top of that the same issue occurs when trying to run it from tray from the disc or from a virtual drive. So it isn't my bin/cue combo, I have to assume it's something with the game.
Load disk
go to command line
type "mount d e:\" (e is the letter of the drive your disk is in)
fyi: Use the scroll lock key to toggle game focus mode to type without controller bindings.
