Not sure if this is a result of today's RetroArch update, or something else that changed on the steamdeck. I checked permissions, and as far as I can tell, that directory has the same permissions as the steamapps directory which it *can* see, so I don't think it should be a permissions issue (plus, it was fine yesterday)
My SD card has vanished and is inaccessible through Steam Retroarch.
^^^^^ On my Steam Deck.
Might have to watch out for the auto-updates :D

Last night I just got everything synced between my Steam Deck and Desktop and finally started a Shinning Force fan translation.
Hey-ho. Worse things happen at sea. As long as the Retroarch team (community?) have an intent about external storage i am sure it will get looked at.
EDIT:
Steam Linux Runtime - Sniper has received a fix on the client_beta branch for this, you can find it under the tools category if you feel adventurous enough to use it.
What do I do now?
Retroarch doesn't recognise ANY of the folders I created in data/emulation/retroarch anymore!
Thanks boss that was driving me nuts.
Do the same but change the STEAM_COMPAT_MOUNTS environment variable to point at the mountpoint for that drive.
It is column delimited in case you have multiple drives.
