PPSSPP Core Tactics Ogre Settings
I'm super new to emulators and would really appreciate some guidance on what settings I should have to plat Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together.

I have it on PSP, but I'd really like to replay it on my computer on a bigger screen, unfortunately the text leaves a lot to be desired on a bigger screen as it comes across quite pixelated and unpleasant to look at.

So I was hoping I could get some setting recommendations from people who are more familiar with the technical side of emulators.

I found some older topics on the internet, but they're all for the standalone PPSSPP emulator and not the Retroarch core, so some of the options are either not there or are named something different and I'm not familiar enough to identify.

I'd really like my game to look like this:

But that requires adding some texture pack to some folder and since it is for the PPSSPP standalone, I'm unsure if it's even compatible with Retroarch on Steam.

I want to try and get the game up and running as best as possible on the Steam version of Retroarch because I'd like to play a bunch of other titles on the Steam Deck in the future.

I want to try and get the game running as close to the PSP version as possible. One thing I've noticed so far is that in the beginning when you're picking the tarrot cards, on the emulator they get all pixelated when they move to the back, but in my PSP version, they don't. A minor thing, I know, but I wonder if there's a setting that will disable that pixellation to match more closely to the original?

Any setting recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I didn't have this issue in regards to pixelation. I instead crashed after the 2nd part of Almorica Castle.

I just loaded the game into downloads folder after unzipping it.
Loaded the PPSSPP standalone core and it started playing.
Everything seemed peachy up to the second boss.
I'm going to do a couple tweaks with the game settings and look up a ton of forumns in regards to Retroarch settings for games & settings for specific cores.

my best looking settings are texture scaling level set to x2 and texture scaling type hybrid, that way you don't get too pixelated text/characters.
