help pcsx2 failed to load content

when i load a ps2 game it says failed to load content

Do you have your bios in the right place?

See in video option's if its set to Dx11. That fixed it for me.

ps2 bios is a bit of a nightmare to sort out but your backups need to be extracted that's what was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me up make sure all the bios files are in pcsx2/bios aswell

to test if your bios is right and not the backup iso run the core with no content and you should get into the ps2 menu if your bios is right

I had this bug too, even with
Settings > Video > Output > Video > glcore
Settings > Cores > Allow cores to change the video driver
BIOS well put in the path "...\Steam\steamapps\common\RetroArch\system\pcsx2\bios\"

By changing the path where I had the ISO of the game, it has already worked. I think that if the path is very long or has some strange character, then that error appears.

Did they change what lrps2 name i cannot find it in the manage cores

You need to extract aka unzip the ROM if you keep it zipped up it will not open!

RA's PCSX2 is now LRPS2.

The core is not outdated as the standalone emulator.

I didn't try the guide but with the standalone I can play "The Thing" and with this core the game is buggy. Does your guide turn the core functional and updated like the standalone?

Hard to say either you're not doing something right or maybe the game just doesn't function properly through Retroarch and they may need to update on their end maybe!

Another thing you can do is play the game directly through pcsx2.exe and see what happens!

To know if it's you or if it's Retroarch I would recommend deleting your Retroarch folder from steam than uninstalling Retroarch from Steam and then follow my guide so you know where the problem is coming from!

I'm doing the right things. As I've said it runs perfectly on the standalone but the core is outdated and thus the game becomes buggy on visual and many glitches. Ofc I prefer to play it on steam to show and share the SS and that's why I'm asking.
I just thought that maybe with your steps and replacing the emulator data it could work.
Anyways I'll keep waiting for an update hopefully.

Please don't shoot me on what i am about to say, I am a big fan of PS2 games there a lot of them i want to replay again because there where fun i got like 20 of them and so far 5 of them play without issues but i think there still working on fixing some bugs to make sure all game play without issues and glitches until then i don't think they will release it soon but maybe in the future once everything is fix and it in working order but until then we wait and be patient.
