Best port of the game?
I'm pretty confused, I know this PC port sucks but apparently it's not just this one, with the PS5 and Xbox Series X being pretty aweful too with subpar resolutions and bad performance.

Is there any video that can help me decide which version to pick?

I can only speak for myself but i did not have any problems with this port.
Played for 48 hours, 4k resolution, everything maxed at locked 60 FPS.
No crash or anything in all that time.

There are apparently some problems if you play at higher FPS since animations are tied to the framerate and optimized for 60 FPS but thats about it.

Since i play on a 4K/60hz monitor i did not experience any problems, even with the day 1 launch version of the game.

Its definitely a much better PC port then Nier Automata was.
And even that port is not as bad as many say.

If you are a little handy to install Special K, PC would be best platform with decent machine.

Automata is one of the worst pc ports I’ve ever seen, you just have to see how much specialK fixes to appreciate what a mess it is

60hz monitor in 2k1? Once you experience higher refresh rates you’ll never want to go back to a pedestrian 60hz ever again

As a PS5 Owner this is the biggest load of bs I have read. The performance is far from bad and the subpar resolutions is more of a monitor thing than console. Plus the game is mean't for PS4, not PS5. All PS5 does is slightly improve the quality and performance thanks to its hardware. Square Enix and the Devs needs to release a separate quality patch for the PS5, otherwise its just the PS4 version.

The game isn't even ported to the PS5 or XB SX anyway, its just backwards compatible.

Seems like you’re a Sony fanboy?

PS5 Port only supports 1080p and “backwards compatibility” is really just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ excuse.

And to salt the wound even more, the PS5 is by far the worst console between either my PS5 and my Series X in terms of cross platform games. Really disappointed in it’s performance.

I have another 144hz monitor, i still prefer the 4k/60 one.
Apart from RPG/JRPG i play mostly grand strategy, 4X, manager and simulation games.
None of those really profit from higher refresh rates over 60hz.

High refresh rates are fine for action games, shooters and such.
I dont really care about it with the kind of games i play.

But Nier is action combat, so it would benefit from higher refresh rates

This game brakes at anything above 60 FPS. No reason to use the faster monitor for it.

because the physics are tied to the frame rate but a well coded game wouldn't suffer from this issue

I'm either a Fanboy or you're a Blind Sony Hater. Guess we'll never know which.

Not much we can do with that "♥♥♥♥♥♥ excuse". This is a dev and game problem not the console.

Cool salt. Sadly it didn't burn enough to affect me, the best I could do is pity you for having a ridiculously expensive console that doesn't meet up to your expectations.

Personally I think it runs fine at 60fps than the aforementioned higher FPS. I ran across more input lag in the higher FPS than I did on the 60FPS.

PC with FPS capped at 60 or high fps fix is the optimal version

There's absolutely no reason why the PS5 shouldn't have anything similar to Smart Delivery, which is a console level feature the dev/game has absolutely no control over. If you can't admit this flaw you're absolutely a fanboy.

I'm playing the PS5 for the exclusives: Spiderman, R&C, Demon souls, etc. But in terms of pretty much everything else, backwards compatibility, the store, lack of smary delivery, operating system, it's just terrible.

Didn't have problems with this game. Nier Automata on the other hand is a different story.

It's a trade off. I don't run a 4k screen but I do have a 16:10 monitor that's only 60hz. Some games it's worth for me to have a lower framerate for slightly more screen real estate. assuming it can support it. This game is gorgeous and I could totally understand someone wanting to play it at 4k. Also a 144hz or higher 4k monitor is pricey as hell. Most people I know have 4k 60hz panel a long side a 144z 1080p display
