Game Breaking Resource Transportation Bug
Today I have twice encountered a bug that essentially ends the game - specific resources become locked out of a sector and they can never be transported to it. My earlier encounter with the bug dealt with Polymers. I had a transportation route for them set up and working fine, then all of a sudden I noticed I had no more probes. I have no idea how this is happening, but something causes a sector to become locked out of ever receiving a resource from another (or possibly its the other way around and it can't be sent, not willing to test it).

I'm well aware of how to set up trade. Sector receiving is not set to export any of the amount of resource and has a storage limit of 10 to store. Sector sending is set to export to all sectors while having a storage limit of 0. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it, but I can not. Trade that was just fine just stops for no reason at all. The game is essentially over for me.

By chance I reloaded an earlier save and it was working again for the Polymer, then the same exact issue occurred with Electronics. I am not reloading a save from 4 hours ago (where I had to load for the Polymer issue to be fixed). Thanks but no thanks Ixion, was fun while it lasted.

Just stop using MAX qnts in transportation. ATM system stops deliver stuff if any of the target sectors has MAX qnt. You produce food in one sector and feed others? If any other sector got max food qnt (for any reason), no furher transportation to ANY sector will occur. Effectively, you will have 1 sector fed and other sectors are starving.

Having a single depot not working properly will break the chain. It's hard to pinpoint but doable but it is still really annoying.

its not a bug, your airlocks are just full from other resources not being able to be transported into cargo racks. Nothing goes out so nothing can come in, Particularly the new resource in question.

Whole transportation setting is very ambiguous. When you set level of given items in a sector, it means no matter what it will never give up anything below that level.

What I like is that you can change the Content type of Depot without issue. Change Ice to Fe. Carry on. ;)

For me, played over 40 hours restarting multiple times due to game bugs. Example: people starving when there is 80 food and a full mess hall, remove and readded the mess hall, same bug, moved the mess hall, that worked but then it started in the other sector. now that everyone is angry i just called it quits. done with this game for now, hopefully these can be ironed out as it was fun for a while.

This was the issue. Found it randomly after looking for two hours. In my case, I generally utilize a single depot to hold polymers and electronics in sectors where I am building new things. My production sector was trying to send polymers to one sector where I didn't have a depot turned on to accept it (it was enabled in the import/export menu) so the production sector was just stuck on that fact and wouldn't send polymers anywhere else.

Glad you found it I had the same issue many time while shuffling sectors infrastructure. I'm a pro at finding it now lol.

I was hoping that balance button which turns yellow allow me to balance items. But it balances nothing. It just sets needed level for that sector to half of capacity and it never changes even if you build new storage etc. Useless.
It should balance out all available items on the station with sectors which have this button set.

As with this thread, many of the "bugs" people are reporting are just the result of not understanding the game systems or overlooking a mistake.

The systems are pretty complex tho, so it's understandable.

Sometimes its not even complexity, its the logic works only a certain way and sometimes in a limited capacity compared to what the user wants. Just have to work at it until you follow the same logic as the game.

At last thank you, been dealing with this bug for ages. For me at least this works, setting everything to 5 units under max (or less) caused the whole system to start moving again.

Yes. The systems all function as designed, but they are not necessarily designed as the user might expect.

That is soaccurate
