Should I play this, or wait for remake?
I first played and beat Persona 5, now playing Persona 3 Reloaded. I want to play this after I beat 3, but the remake won’t be out for a few years I heard, so should I play this, or wait?

So do you want to wait a few years or play now? How tf would we know? It's up to you.

There is absolutely nothing wrong or outdated about persona 4 golden, its a great game and has that early 2010s charm, the only difference a remake will have would be easier combat and improved visuals, imo not worth waiting years for that, now persona 3 reload vs p3p i can understand since p3p is quite different from the og p3
Persona 5 being your first will make you not enjoy the older games combat purely because of how easy it is, i played 4 first and will play 5 next, then 3 reload after then p3p after that

This is my first Persona game. It's also my favourite of the three titles available on Steam because of the colorful main cast compared to 3 or 5. You're just gonna have to suck up the lack of baton pass and bland dungeon design, because the story and characters are well worth it

Even if a remake comes out, i won't be getting it, because trying to start a Persona game with a fresh save file is a pain in the butt haha. I'd just play NG+ at this point (which i am) since i already know the story.

there are only rumors of a remake so far, it seems weird to wait to play something that we don't even know is in development.

i am qualified to answer this

i played persona 3 reload as my first persona game (ignore my p4g hours, i bought it on release and played a few hours only, but left it open on my pc for 90+ hours). it immediately became one of my favorite games of all time and i thought it would easily stay my favorite persona game. then i played p5r, and it, especially the royal content, blew me the ♥♥♥♥ away and also became one of my favorite games of all time and maruki single handedly made me rank it about p3r

so i was also thinking about waiting to play p4g since the leaker who mentioned p4 remake is reputable, but after about 10 days of playing something else i got to missing persona and wanting to just play it, so i started it

i'm not done yet (im in the golden content) and honestly p4 might be my favorite of the 3 games. i am extremely happy i didn't wait for a remake, which i'm sure will be great, but p4 has so much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soul and the loss of qol stuff is easily made up for in other ways by other things that i do like (going in and out of the velvet room takes 2 seconds, loading screens are really fast, the days go by 10x faster than p5r with less class segments and stuff) and just overall i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game especially for some personal reasons that make some of the later dojima social links really hit close to home for me

anyway tldr do not wait, play this masterpiece

Be me.

I downloaded the pirated version and played for more than 60 hours. Then, I decided to buy the real game to continue playing it. And guess what? I played for another 80 hours.

:B1:

P/S: You know what I thought before playing P4G? "Man, this game looks ugly as hell. I doubt I can play it for an hour."

The game is definately great as it is, I even played and loved the Classic non Golden version on my PS2, I haven't played the Golden version so far but I bought it here on Steam and will play it over the next months. I'm already excited about experiencing the additions that were made in Persona 4 Golden.
There is nothing about the game that has aged badly, in my opinion it doesn't even need a remaster or remake, they should rather focus on remaking and remastering the first two Personas because they are really hard to get nowadays and not being able to evade enemies which will attack you nearly every three steps really is too time consuming and a nuisance by todays standards.

The game looks and plays fantastic for it's age. There's no need to wait for a remake and even then Persona 6 is their priority now. It's been 8 years since the last mainline entry and i doubt P4 Remake is coming any soon.

Honestly, P4 doesn't need a remake. Sure, there's always room for improvement but is not necessary. I'd rather see P1&2 being remade, those games aged like crap.

Persona 4 Golden is always worth your time!

What remake?
There's no confirmation of P4-Remake (or Reload...Retuned....?) Atlus has a lot of projects lined up and I believe resources will eventually funnel into P6. I say play P4-G now seen as you are still in that Persona mood, it plays mostly the same and what you learned from other Persona games, use to towards P4-G but make the experience better by modding it. Theres loads of community made mods that spruce up the game like randomised battle music, more QOL options, battle portraits from P4-Arena, high quality textures etc. You can still see that PS2 style to it but that doesnt make it bad.

Go for it and enjoy. Also congrats completing P3-R. I just completed it myself couple days ago :P 140hrs playtime

P4 don't need a remake, it is very good the way it is.

Oh FFS it´s not as P4 Golden is an update to something 40 years old, it´s totally playable and won´t offend anyone
