is it cheating to edit my safe file to max my social stats?

yeah its cheating but its allowed as well so go for it.

its better to do all the links in new game plus tho so u can be as efficient as possible without a dumb guide

It's not like it's possible to get the platinum trophy on the first playthrough anyway. This seems unnecessary because social stats carries over to new game+. But you can do whatever you want.

First playthrough i wouldnt suggest it, but ng+ do whatever you want, some of the slinks have funny events and are a great way to find out more about your party members and people of inaba, not sure why youd want to skip all that lore, if anything the save editor can be used to make combat easier if you are struggling and dont want to grind dungeons too much

I mean yes, it is very obviously cheating, I don't know how you would expect any other answer to that question. As for "is it bad?", its your offline singleplayer game, no one cares or can control what you do with it. If it enhances your enjoyment, do whatever you want.

It is cheating. It's a single player game, so nobody cares if you do it. But the answer to your question is indeed yes, and I don't know what else you expected.

i like the game i just prefer the story, just because i make one part of the game trivial, doesn't mean i dont like the game as a whole.

i dont think theres anything inherently wrong with that, if you want to spend 15-20 hours grinding dungeons and rng golden hands, go for it, if you want to skip that, it is... acceptable

Sounds like you're in a big rush to get nowhere. Just show some backbone and embrace the grind, its not like you have anything better to do...besides making posts to excuse your cheating soul.

If you aren't bullying another person, then cheat as much as you want. Games exist to entertain, so it is your call whether grind is what makes you happy.

No. This is your game and your life. Enjoy it how you want. If that means bypassing a metric that only exists to make you think that the one or two courage checks you couldnt pass matter in NG+, so be it.

however there are guides out there if your trying to max all confidants on the first run
