"Spoilers" Standard Final Boss

I was just wondering what people thought about the first final boss Ameno-Sagiri and the fight with Adachi beforehand. Since this would've been the final boss for base Persona 4, I have to say it was kind of underwhelming. It didn't feel like it had any real emotional weight to it, and a god appearing out of nowhere to be the final boss doesn't give a whole lot of impact. Then again, it is part of the Megami Tensei series, so you should go in assuming some kind of game would be the final boss. I played base Persona 4 but never beat it, and I think that might be a good thing. The longer I think about it, the more I dislike Ameno-Sagiri

He is merely an aspect of Izanami which she uses to control the fog. That is his only purpose, hence he doesn't have much personality unlike Marie.

It makes sense in the context of Golden, but I keep imagining myself playing base Persona 4 and in that case, I just keep thinking "Wow, that was kind of anticlimatic." Really makes the extra Golden content feel like it was supposed to be there the whole time.

Ameno-Sagiri isn't the final boss of base Persona 4, unlike P5R the new Golden content is slotted between ameno-sagiri and the true final boss.

Yeah, if i remember correctly, Kunino-Sagiri is the final boss of the bad ending, Ameno-Sagiri is the final boss of the normal ending, Izanami-no-Mikoto/Marie is the final boss of the normal ending(Golden only), and Izanami is the final boss of the true ending. Honestly i don't really hold any emotional weight about any godly beings(except Marie), since all they do is doing their jobs and think they are right. Persona 5 isn't any different towards this.

Izanami is the final boss for both true and golden routes. Kusumi-no-Okami\Marie is fought in February as part of golden route.

Actually, the final boss is the feeling of emptiness in yourself after finishing the game.

Yeah, sorry about that, i meant Kusumi-no-Okami\Marie is the final boss of the golden route, but didnt go for the true ending.Izanami is the final boss of the true ending(Incl. golden route).

Agreed, but the climatic scene with Persona 5's god was a lot more cinematic at least. MC summoning Satanael was pretty awesome

Well, im not saying anything about summoning your ultimate persona, i agree that its pretty epic, Izanagi was also pretty cinematic, the way Yu(MC) summoned Izanagi-no-Okami, by accepting himself and his bonds of the social links and throwing away his glasses like a badass.

Yeah, after you beat Ameno-Sagiri in OG P4 you were then given a choice on the last day of the game to leave and end the game getting the "Good" ending or if you choose to stay to find the truth of who started the rumors you'll find the true final dungeon of the game. Since this occurs on the last day before the game ends the new dungeon was slotted between Ameno- Sagiri fight and the true final dungeon/boss.
