Cannot start game - No Window appears, Steam button goes from Stop to Play
As the title says, I am not able to start the game.

I have Windows 10, with the latest drivers installed.

No window of the game appears, and there is no error message.

Did anyone else have this problem, and do you know how to fix it?

Launch the game directly through it's exe file to actually see the error message that Steam surpresses. Helps with identifying the issue.

Very little to go on to be honest.

- Make sure to install the VC 2015 Redistributable.
That can be found here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2015
(If your steam install is elsewhere, adjust accordingly)
- Reboot if you install it.

- If you have either the N or KN versions of windows, install the Windows Media Foundation Pack. Reboot if you install it.

- If you use RTSS, try shutting it down. If that fixes the problem and you must use RTSS, you'll need to try a different version until it works.

Brilliant, thank you both!

I ran the exe file, and it said that the wmvcore.dll was not found, which after a quick google search meant that the Windows Media was missing, so will install it now.

I will let you know how it turns out!

Found another fix. You can download the latest Windows Media Pack here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/mediafeaturepack

When asked to select my most recent version, I just picked the 2019 option. Either way, downloaded the media pack, restarted the PC, and now it's working. I think it must contain the missing wmvcore.dll files.

If you are on Win 10 1903 or higher, it's recommended that you install via Windows Settings - Apps and Features / Optional Settings.
