Is there a mod out there that makes fishing easier I'm trying to finish the Hermit Social Link but I just suck at fishing. I had a hard time in the PS2 version too but I much prefer the button mashing to this nonsense. Although I did have to use a turbo controller to catch the guardian...

I've actually been having a much easier time fishing in this one than even the Vita version, to say nothing of the PS2 version. It just kinda comes down to reflexes - how quickly you can react to the cursor leaving the target area and moving the stick so it is back in a good position.

You're using a controller right? Just press the directional buttons to keep the cursor in the middle and hold A when it's in the sweet spot and let go when it's not. It's easy

tbh its a matter of practice, i spent literally an hour trying to catch the sea guardian for the first time, AND FUNNY ENOUGH MY PC TURNED OFF RANDOMLY LIKE 10 SECONDS AFTER I DID.
However all of that gave me a feel for the "minigame", I was able to catch it again after my PC rebooted, and on NG+ i got it first try with no trouble.
Just keep practicing

I've done it so many times lol I have a hard time getting huge fish I can't imagine how hard the guardians are gonna be. I've only got it to spawn once so far (12/18 at night) but I messed up starting the mini game. I think I might just make a new save and move on for now and come back when there's a mod and then come back to that save.

nope I'm using a keyboard. I could try and format one of my ps3/4 controllers to work on here but that's a lot of work lol

You just try to keep it in the middle and press once stop press again since you only need one for an entire run....

I had a lot of trouble when I started, but I later learned that it was because the instructions are terrible. Keep the point in the good area, but don't HOLD the key / button while it's in there. Just press or tap it a bit and repeat while the cursor is in the good area. I think you have an unlimited amount of time to reel it in as long as you don't HOLD the button while it's in the middle.

If you hold it, the blue area gets reduced very fast and it's nearly impossible to catch the fish. And since you've read both books, you can just hit that instant reel button, once you see it, to guarantee the catch.

As for the bigger fish, you can tell if it will be one by looking at the size of the ripples. If it seems to be the small fish, you can just reel the line back in right away and recast it until you see the big ripples.

ok so i tried tapping and i connected my ps4 controller and i got him on the third try. I was worried I'd have to do the fox's quests all over again omg ty I should;ve streamed it but I thought it would've taken forever lol

Okay I caught the river guardian and now I'm trying to get the sea guardian but it's so hard. Why did they change it from the PS2 version where you only have to catch the one fish smh

What? turbo buttom? you need hold the buttom only, and keep doing this until the end.

After spending several hours to catch the sea guardian, I think I found some mechanism of fishing. There are four colors in the bar: red, orange, yellow and blue.
If you press x in the blue area, the fish line reel in and it is said that the quick reel in (triangle button) occurs when you accumulate enough time pressing x in the blue area.
If you press x in the yellow area, the fish line won't reel in but the blue area decrease.
If you press x in the orange area, the fish will run away from you.
If the cursor is in the red area, the fish will run away from you even though you don't press the button.
So you should not pressing x too long to avoid the cursor suddenly rushes to the orange area and try your best to avoid the red area.

It's really not that hard. Just press the button and don't hold it at all. If it's in the blue area, tap the button once and then wait for another chance. Just keep moving it in the middle and tap it in the blue area. Eventually, you'll get the option to hit triangle. Hit that as fast as you can because it disappears sometimes. It will come back though, but I recommend a finger on the button so you can hit it quickly.
