Does anyone actually like Teddie? (Spoilers)

Even with Persona 4's heyday being long gone, Atlus continues to put him onto everything, but does anyone actually like him? I personally cannot stand this annoying sex pest who made a child's death about himself. I consider Persona 4 the worst game I've played in the series and Teddie is a big contributor to that opinion.
I want to kick this stupid bear's face in. His design tries very hard to be cute, but fails miserably. It looks like if some alien race tried to design something humans would find cute.

He's not my favorite character but I don't hate him. I don't remember him trying to make *that character's* death about himself. I thought he felt useless because he couldn't prevent it, lost all hope and just sort of wandered back into the shadow world. Maybe you and I remember it differently.

As far as his design, I think it's supposed to be superficially cute but with creepy undertones, and I think it works in that regard. That zipper around his neck was giving me creepy vibes before the game established that he's hollow inside.

... Eh, he's fine as a mascot. As a 'human,' though, he's basically absorbed mostly bad habits, mainly what he's observed from Shadow Chie and Yukiko, as well as from Yosuke, but has just enough innocence to avoid the worst consequences.

Now, as far as "the child's death," it's not that he made it *all* about himself, but rather is unable to come to grips with the fact that he has no power in the real world to save others, and given his bond with the child it's understandable that he would be driven to the brink of despair and lose his presence in the real world. And to be fair, they also needed a way to separate Teddie from the group for the scene immediately after since he would be adamant against condemning the kidnapper to being trapped in the TV world.

There are times I wish he would get a Galactic Punt to the moon, but it's usually just during his pervy moments, and in all honesty I really don't think he understands 90% of what he's doing; he just thinks that's what friends do so he just does it and that's that. Does that justify what he does? Not really, but at least it gives some context.

It's at least more bearable than a (not-a-)cat that constantly acts like he's superior to everyone else, treats one person with utter contempt (even going so far as to use the same slurs as the teacher that they want to bust at the beginning), uselessly simps for the first girl he comes across, and bottles everything up until he throws a temper-tantrum and runs off to form a new group with a poor girl that can't decide whether she wants to rebel or not.

I don't loathe him, but when he's played up as a joke mascot and then a creepy pervert, it's hard to get invested in any attempt to give him a "serious" character arc, especially when it feels like so much of that arc is vague character amnesia.

Teddie is cancer and is easily my least favorite party member out of any Persona game. He's not funny, useful, or even cute. He just makes me cringe whenever he speaks. Even if you don't like Morgana in P5R at least he's still one of your best party members combat wise.

The guy has only watched the midnight channel. In the past during the midnight channel there were only soft porn or adult stuff.

I don't mind him, he is definitely not Morgana, damn I hate that cat and having him all the freaking time. Also Teddie is a hardworker, he works, he pays the bills, he even helps you when you are ill. The guy was alone for a a lot of time inside a TV. What can you expect of someone who is charismatic and who has not had much contact with anyone? Obviously the character was made to make the player laugh.

Only one time It got into my nerve but that's all.

at least teddie is less annoying than mona, Teddie is a boss fighter while Mona is mobs fighter. Both are annoying and mascots, but mona is still more annoying than Teddie. The most annoying about Teddie is his shoe's squaek sound in dungeon. For character at least Teddie is fit with P4 theme around 2000s, i mean i grow around that year so i don't find anything wrong with Teddie, he just try to joke around and he can to do his best joke around his best friend after being lonely in TV world.

Design tbh Teddis is cute, his human form also better than Mona human form i truly don't like mona human form, so yeah i liked Teddie, i grown up since Teddie in P4 PS2, luckily i had a chance to be able play P4G from Steam, so yeah i guess P4 isn't for u, play something more fancy like Fire Emblem or Kingdom Hearts 3 or any Final Fantasy games that fit your taste

I imagine the ppl posting here plays with English VA, bcs the Japanese VA for Teddie has done a fantastic job of making him sound like an absolute CREEP with a kid's voice, while Mona sounds just like a condescending old dude with a cat's voice. I hated every minute of this game with Teddie as the navigator, pestering me about low hp, getting ambushed, even when he cheers me on makes me want to tear my ears off and bust my own eardrums.
I get why most ppl here hate on Mona, since this is the forum for P4 after all, but my vote definitely goes to Teddie. Sure, you might not like listening to Mona simping for Ann all day long, but remember Teddie actively mentions SCORING with two girls, in front of them no less. At least Mona is a gentleman while at it. I'd take two Monas over one Teddie. He is seriously making me consider to give up on this game, together with 'every castle a mementos' laziness and 2000's inhumane game mechanics. Yeah, it's an old game, but that is not an excuse to be exempted from scrutiny. After P6's probable publishing, P5 would be judged as well.

One of the things I love about Persona 4 is just how weird it is. Teddie is definitely a part of that equation.

The "scoring with two girls" thing is an artifact of translation. We don't have a word in English for 逆ナン (gyakunan). Teddie isn't actually a horndog, he just picked up a word from Yukiko's shadow that he doesn't know the meaning of, kind of like a small child.

It's a love hate thing but Mona is definitely way better. Also each time he does stupid thing I just scream at the screen saying "THAT'S IT, YOU'RE BENCHED TED!" which is why he's the lowest level among the team when everyone reach 90s

I don't hate Marie but I don't blame you either. An amnesiac tsundere who writes cringey poems is kind of a hard sell. I still like her better than Ai or Yumi though.
