Playing vanilla Persona 4 currently. The differences are interesting

No Marie, going at night only to fish, school questions are different, no exclamation marks on quest npcs, floating shadows are hard to hit, shuffle time is different, SP usage is insane (met the fox, but he's not in the TV yet), Yukari's boss fight kicked my ass. Reading books is different, no indication if your social link will progress or not, no bug catching for bait.

Chie has a different VA yes, but the difference is insane. It's like she has a completely different personality, which is weird, text is the same, but the delivery changes it.
Haven't even noticed Teddy, he seems the same.

So far it seems very different and harder.

yeah.. that's why I tend to like vanilla Persona games more than their "upgraded" counterparts.. the original games don't hold your hands as much, and I really like that.
not to mention, in P4's case.. I actually like Chie's voice better in vanilla P4.

I agree with you, it's basically a different experience entirely. Though I can't stand Chie's original voice actor, someone once told me she sounds like an old lady and I can't un-hear it.

Couldn't stand the Golden voices, myself, so I switched to JP voices, which is itself a neat new experience.

I had seen the anime subtitled, but actually playing the game with its original language cast is special.

That’s probably why they changed it.

Original Chie just doesn’t fit the character she’s meant to be, while Golden Chie fits perfectly.

Yeah she can sound annoying and hyper at times...........but that’s the point.

Its not the original actress's fault though. Just a miscast.

I've only played P4G here on Steam, she sounds a lot smoother in the original version, for sure. But I like the upbeat and louder Golden version, I think it suits the character better.

You're completely right, and I don't blame her. I just wish it were possible to port the new voice over to the original P4. Would be nice if the PC releases of these games included both versions but I don't expect it because of the massive undertaking that'd be.

It could also be a licensing thing and having to contact the original voice.

But things like this that are likely to not happen is what mods are for. If they can figure out how to edit dialogue.
