How do you feel about Marie?

A lot of people hated Marie when P4G first came out, and still do. I was aware of this so I am intentionally avoiding her (that and I want to get every ending, even the bad ones). But how do you guys feel about Marie? Do you think she's bad? I only did her first two, but they were alright and her poems are nice.

She isnt bad, she is just not implemented well into story.

I loathed being forced to read her poems (not much of a poetry guy), but she's a otherwise decent character and her interactions as a person of the velvet room with the outside world are pretty amusing.

She's actually really funny. I know her reactions to you finding her poems lol thanks Margaret Her dungeon is pretty interesting as well. And I also only too me 3 interactions with her to remember that her English VA voiced Sherry in Resident Evil 6.

As a character, I think she's fine. However, the original story was created and made without her and thus stood as a completed game. You have this very weird situation where you are trying to add a new character, that has some significance, to an already well told story. They would have needed to redo major portions of the story/calendar to fully integrate her into the story, but didn't/couldn't.

Persona 4 Golden The Animation attempted to rework scenes with the main cast and Marie which kinda works, but still is off. I think they learned their lesson from Marie when they set out to make Persona 5 Royal, but that's another can of worms as I believe that base Persona 5 intentionally left that part out to pull a Golden/FES shtick.

Also would have been nice to have her part of Summer Festival Date/Hangout, Night time hangouts, Christmas, and/or New Years.

I mean the original story started without marie, however she is a necessary character in golden as in the original game you don't (final boss spoilers) fight izanami the creator of the midnight channel and the one who gave you your persona powers. in golden this is added in and you wouldn't have figured out who that was without marie so she's kind of necessary in golden story-wise. character wise she could have been better written in but i think she's fine tbh.

Uh, if you want to get every ending you shouldn't be avoiding Marie as at least one ending is locked behind maxing her Social Link by the end of December. I aggressively pursued her SL as this is my first time through Golden and I want to see the new Golden content.

I like Marie. She's not my favorite, but I don't get the hate. I do think the joke about finding her poems starts to get old.

In base Persona 4 you do fight Izanami on the last day, if you go for the true ending. Golden added Marie's dungeon, the Hollow Forest in February.

Marie is an important person, because in truth all of the main bosses are parts of Marie, which has splitted from her and this is why she has lost her memories and as the weakest of the 4 she has to sacrifice herself to seal a fog, because she doesnt have enough power to do it without a sacrifice . The problem is that she is that standing there and waiting for something.

You get the True Ending without Marie and the Golden Ending with Marie. Since I want every ending, what I am doing is fine. I've already got the Bad, Neutral, and Accomplice Endings.

She's okay, but she does feel like she's surgically implanted into the game at times... because, really, she was.

I love her arc starting around January though and especially her dungeon.

Well tsundere girl is my kinda girl and her VA in JP is superb and i love it,maybe for most of you in here play on english dub not getting the same feeling like i did so i can understand that.

I think most people hated her because of her dungeon or maybe because of her potrayal in the Golden anime, she's a literal mary sue in the anime. Imo she's fine.
