Steam Deck compatible?
I'm considering getting a Steam Deck with a dock so I can play P4G on my 55" TV rather than my 15" lab top. Obviously, I intend to make sure this game actually works with Steam Deck before I buy anything. Any idea when that info might be available?

Unless someone who actually has a Steam Deck comments here, this is the closest you can get to a feedback atm.

The steam deck is able to have any operating system installed , so yes you can just put window's on it via the SD slot with a burned ISO file of Window's 10 ( I recommend Ventoy as you can have multiple OS put on it at once to have a Backup just in case) ,or Valve has said they are aiming for 100% Linux compatibility for the steam deck since it will carry a Arch Linux Based "Steam OS 3.0"

FYI we can use "the Aya Neo" or the One X Player to determine how Portable handheld's are ,and some people are going out of there way to use "close as possible spec's" to what the steam deck will have to give a accurate reading ,and FPS count.

There are other's you could find on youtube to offer more specific talks about the "Linux and DRM talk" rather than just spec analysis if you want these are just those I personally Recommend. They are both highly Intelligent people on the subject with a good "tech track record"

Persona 4 Golden's implementation of Denuvo makes it problematic to run on Linux via Proton. ProtonDB seems to suggest that it does work with particular versions of Proton GE, but newer versions seem to have broken it again.

As others mentioned, you can just install Windows, but then you'll be missing out on SteamOS specific features like sleep and auto-resume and specific optimizations made.

maybe that's why it does not work on my Proton GE fork I never thought the game update could break it?

I was just playing it earlier, and it was working on proton 6.3-7 Just once you see the TV and it freezes on a black screen, it doesn't actually freeze, you have to hit ESC to initiate the opening, then you can skip it and go to the menu, seems you have to manual hit ESC though any time a animated cutscene starts playing, so if the screen is ever black for to long, just hit ESC

yes it should , though I am Still shuffling around my file's to get it to work. As the Guy above said you would have to skip all cutscenes's and you will be missing certain thing's (since it is linux based and theres compatibility with linux proton by its self unless you can get the Proton GE to work right) so I recommend just using window's on your steam deck if you want to play it.

Though valve said they are working with developer's on compatibility so I am unsure , but I feel like they can figure something out to get it to work. (If Atlus JP cooperates on the removal of a certain thing for the Steam deck of course) they can just outright choose to not remove it for the Steam Deck ,and I feel if they do that a lot of fan's are going to be upset.

My advice wait. I imagine that in youtube someone is going to test every renown game. Also valve is building a review team something like that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OAqvtlgfGA

Apparently you can't see this on current Steam store page but you will be able to see compatibility on your SteamDeck. There is dedicated SteamDeck pagee that explains exactly that (and they currently in the process of reviewing all games in library) https://www.steamdeck.com/en/verified
According to SteamDB P4G changes page https://steamdb.info/app/1113000/history/ game has received SteamDeckVerified_TestResult_SteamOSDoesNotSupport test result.
I assume that Atlus choice of media back-end for animations and bad DRM doesn't work well with Linux based SteamOS.

Well, we'll see what 'unsupported' means in this context.

Regardless, given nothing changes - using Windows with Steam Deck will get past this issue most likely. (Being Proton related issue or something)
