Help with the 4th Dungeon Boss.
I'm on the final boss for the Void Quest Dungeon but I keep dying because I lose my SP too quick. I'm level 43 and have around 235 SP. I looked at a website that told me to get Black Frost with Agidyne, Mind Charge, Fire Amp and just keep using Agydine and Mind Charge but I lose all my SP and don't have any items to recover it when i get about half way through the boss. I even have the Blaze Vow equipped which gives me a 30% damage boost on fire attacks. Please help since I'm on like my fourth try and I'm not sure what I'm doing that could help me save more SP or just finish the boss faster.

Are you talking about Mitsuo? or the one after that? if its Mitsuo then I recommend dealing massive damage at all times never let his 8bit hero rebuild. deal as much damage as possible to break it before it rebuilds. He will use a barrier of the element he will use next. so if he uses a ice barrier he will spam ice attacks to prepare to defend often with party members weal to whatever element he uses. other than that you shouldnt need a lot of SP unless on harder difficulties. conserve SP at times by using physical attacks and if you have any damage dealing items try using those in a pinch too. otherwise unsure how to help since Level 43 seems overleveled in my opinion for that boss. I played on normal and beat him at LV37 granted barely but still

I'm playing on hard so thats probably why I need more SP in the fight then normal. Last time I fought him though, he put up an ice wall and then used mazio and wiped Teddie and Yosuke out instantly. Everytime I try to buff my stats aswell, he just nullifies them again :p4g_sweat:

my first time through I won by bum rushing him with offense while taking the time to guard with vulnerable allies. I pulled some info from official strategy guide that Ill post below that might help:

This is a fight in which the enemy may take two forms. The first being the 8-Bit hero which is a form of "outer shell" and the 2nd is Shadow Mitsuo. Both forms can attack twice every turn.

The first time the player fights 8-Bit Hero uses only "Attack" and "Bomb." "Attack" is a normal attack and "Bomb" can deal Exhaustion which causes SP to decrease over time, if Shadow Mitsuo successfully reforms the 8-Bit Hero then he can use "Spell" which casts "Gigadyne" that deals Area damage. Defeating the 8-Bit Hero will leave Shadow Mitsuo vulnerable for an All-Out Attack.

Shadow Mitsuo or the "Core" can act twice per turn, can use every element, and frequently uses Megidola, and has a lot of status spells which can inflict Fear on the party. Do not let the status effect Fear linger on, because he can also use "Ghastly Wail," which will immediately kill anyone afraid. He can also cast a Wall spell and then he will spam elements of the appropriate wall spell (If he casts White Wall, he will use Ice Attacks), so the player needs to have the party members with weaknesses appropriate to the attack guard in order to prevent him from casting Megidola during his extra turn. Removing the wall will not stop Shadow Mitsuo from spamming the same skill.

When the player gets its HP low enough it will try to reform the 8-Bit Hero, and if he succeeds then the player has to fight the 8-Bit hero again. If the player dealt enough damage while he is still reforming his "Outer Shell" then the shell will disappear and he will be vulnerable to an All-Out Attack.

The player can have Teddie present for this to heal Exhaustion and Yukiko to heal the Fear status.

Cast Rakunda with MC, Matarukaja with Teddie, Kanji to hit hard and Yosuke for dps and off-heals I did it that way on hard.

Thank you so much, man. I finally beat the boss using some of your advice. I'm forever greatful for your assistance

Lvl 43 at the end of void quest on hard mode sounds like you don't pick up much material for equipment and/or avoid golden hands. It's pretty hard to be below lvl 50 there, if you do quests and collect at least some drops and fight the golden hands you see.
This game dumps exp at you like crazy. Given that money is actually quite needed (compendium costs), fighting too little also kinda implies that you might want to fuse a bit more.

my first time through i beat him at level 37 MC and I fought enemies on every floor while collecting all chests and opening all rooms from bottom to top i never sat and farmed and I still managed to beat him. I feel like 50+ is really overlevelled, atleast on Normal difficulty I can see maybe 50 being a decent level on Hard

Following that, what would you say would be the right level to beat the Naoto boss at then? I'm only like, level 47 on the 5th floor.

Wait, for real? I just beat Void Quest on Very Hard after tonnes of tries and Golden Hand grinding, and I was only like level 45. I don't feel like I had a particularly lucky fight either.

Very hard halves exp and money gained, you would've been lvl 60 or something on hard. That's why everyone recommends to just not bother with very hard, as it really just adds grind and literally nothing else, as you really need a certain level or else things just become problematic. Part of what makes very hard arguably harder however is the limited resources. But you actually really need to know what you are doing, to make use out of it, as grinding really defeats the purpose of very hard.

Unless you played the game before however, it's not really that great, and may also take away some fun, as the halved money is a huge issue. I'd personally actually like the exp penalty, but halved money means you can't really fuse either, or you need to spend all your time working. It's.. messy.
