Softlocked on 7/28?

So I booted up my game today, and it was on the 27th. I had forgotten the objective because i hadn't played in a while, so i spent my time at the shrine, which of course progressed the time to night, where i spent time with nanako. Now its the 28th, and I find out i was supposed to be investigating. So i looked up a guide on what to do for the investigation. It tells me on the 27th, i was supposed to talk to kanji, then dojima, then wait until the 28th to talk to adachi. I found kanji and adachi, but dojima is nowhere to be found. Adachi wont progress the story because i didn't talk to dojima on the 27th. Am I locked out of story progression because i didnt investigate yesterday?

Guides are usually very specific on the days that you'll first run into the characters during the investigations but never mention the other days they appear. Usually if a character doesn't appear on one day they should appear on the next. The only thing you lose is a day in the dungeon if you don't talk to required characters on the first day they appear.

a guide is for a step by step of what to do, failing to do so does not mean you'll get softlocked but you do lose a day until the fog and thats it really

Ah, that makes sense! I'm a bit disappointed I have to start the dungeon a few days late, but that's alright. Thank you!!
