Kanji versus Chie?

I've beaten Kanji's dungeon recently on my Izanagi only run and want to know who's generally better as a phys attacker.

Pure damage? Kanji
Overall physical utility and stability? Chie

Both got power charge if you play your cards right:
Chie got area damage and crits
Kanji is an absolute unit but prone to miss

Overall Chie is sightly better since her Strength is not low to begin with.

Use both, at the same time.

Really depends on the situation and party composition, always used both while Yukiko would heal. But i do side more with Kanji.

Stats wise:
Chie at LV99:

Strength 71
Magic 57
Endurance 51
Agility 71
Luck 53

Kanji at LV99

Strength 95
Magic 35
Endurance 82
Agility 60
Luck 37

Chie offers Apt pupil (more crit to her) + revolution (AoE buff crit for everyone, including enemies), Single attack buff, AoE phys attacks and power charge.
Chie's scooter riding ranks can giver her: Hamon at rank 3 and at Rank 4 Tetra break (negating tetrakarn to all enemies).

A reminder, skills with counter effect doens't stack (so no counter + counter strike).

Kanji offers Aoe Buff Attack, defense for the party, AoE agility debuff, power charge, regenerate 3 and highest health pool in the entire party.
Since you're only using izanagi, i suppose you could replace all Electricity related skills with skills he gains riding with you (same interation with chie), which gives Kanji at Rank 4 Fast Heal (Halving the duration of all ailments on him) and Mediarama at rank 5.

And from what i remember Primal Force does more damage and it has more crit chance than god's hand. So Kanji having lower luck than chie isn't really a problem, and buffing Kanji's luck stat with items or skill teaching on Izanagi is also possible.

Kanji. Chie's only advantage is that she naturally learns moves that can hit multiple enemies at once, but take a few day trips with Kanji and he can learn both Atom Smasher and Power Charge, which makes Chie obsolete.

It really depends on the team composition. Chie works best with Yukiko and Naoto due to her being the more physical-based of the three and providing universal buffs via Dragon Hustle and Revolution, while Kanji pairs better with Yosuke and Teddie due to their individual team-buffs synergizing and being the physical powerhouse that might otherwise be lacking from the balanced Yosuke and magical Teddie; the only weakness of putting Yosuke and Teddie on the same team is the same Elec weakness (never understood why this was implemented), but Blue Wall is a thing, so... *shrugs*

I prefer Kanji. My MC typically has better agility than everyone else, so he can start the battle with multi-target attacks leaving Kanji to clean up the stragglers. When I run Chie, I find the battle sequence more awkward.
