So what's the deal with the anti-LGBT sentiment?

I've noticed that none of the Persona games allow same-sex relationships. What's up with that? If I want my character to be gay/bi/whateverthehell, I should have that option. It's not like Atlus doesn't touch on LGBT subject matter in these games. And while I'm on THAT topic, the way Atlus handles that is freaking terrible. Like, you had a golden opportunity with Kanji to show him really coming to terms with alternative sexuality, and not only did you make his Shadow the most ridiculous gay stereotype in existence, after the matter was resolved, it never came up again. Is this how Atlus really sees the LGBT community? Because if so, that's honestly really borked. Our sexualities don't just disappear once we come to terms with it, and stereotyping is freaking gross.

You take every story for what it is. if gay stuff is more to your liking, you go and find stuff where the characters are gay. The creators aren't anti LGBT, racist, xenophobic, antisemitic for not including in a story the personal preference of every loser complaining about it

our problem is not that there are no queer characters, our problem is with the games very explicit ANTI queer content, if they got just got rid of everything saying kanji is gay and everything suggesting naoto being trans I'd be happy. this content doesn't just "not appeal to our demographic" it directly opposes our demographic.

No it doesn't oppose anything. You see things you feel this modern urge to feel offended about because you are deliberately are searching for it. And it's BS. There are NO anti lgbtq sentiments. And if there are some jokes you don't like you should learn to move on. 90% of teh visual novels and games in general contain stereotypical jokes about men. Do you see men coming online yelling that they are ridiculed, and whine like idiots about it? No. Smart people know what jokes are. This LGBTQ paranoia is nothing more than nit picking and desperate search for any small thing to feel offended about. I say move on.

When you see something like "Oh we hate gay people! they are trash!" in some form of media, then you can come and start some discussion about obvious anti-gay sentiment. otherswisse you are making it up just for teh sake of making everything about yourself. No, Not everything is about you, stop thinking you are so important. And enough with this selfish and ridiculous nonsense about creators to change their stories in every sort of way to please each and every minority. It doesn't work that way. You consume what you like. If you dislike something, you move on, and find something else. We like different things.

naoto isn't trans, and kanji (probably) isn't gay.
and no, it doesn't directly oppose our demographic, i'm bi and never once had an issue with anything relating to kanji because the only thing there that i even could have an issue with is his shadow, but i don't have a problem with that since i understand what his shadow is

Exactly, I don't get how people don't see that. It pisses me off that people are willing to ruin a character's entire arc if it means they can relate to them better.

'probably'. no, he's not. It was made very clear he wasn't.

he's still in highschool and was pretty clearly attracted to naoto even when he thought she was a boy, so its still technically possible that he at the very least isn't straight (bi or something maybe).
doesn't really make much of a difference either way.
