Luxury Hands in 6th Dungeon...
Seriously, how are you supposed to defeat these things? I had a lot of trouble with Golden Hands in the first couple of dungeons, then started getting access to Almighty-type spells and hefty crit-boosters of various kinds, and it was smooth sailing from there... until now, when I'm right back to repeatedly wasting time, energy, SP and health fighting these bloody things only for them to ultimately scamper and leave me with nothing to show for my efforts.

They sometimes show up in groups of FIVE, and i'm lucky to take down even ONE of them in that case. They just have SO MUCH HP, evade SO OFTEN, and flee SO QUICKLY. I've literally got ONE turn to kill 'em, before one of them casts Masukukaja and the rest scamper. In the BEST-CASE SCENARIO, I can hit them with an agility-debuff first, which makes TWO of them cast Masukukaja instead so that only THREE of them flee on the first turn... but even then, actually taking down these two stragglers is a matter of casting Dekaja and Masukunda on them every turn, leaving only two party-members free to launch attacks, most of which will miss, aaaand now they've fled too.

I genuinely don't understand how you're actually supposed to kill them. Are there even more frustratingly impossible variants waiting in the dungeons ahead?

If a particular hand is vulnerable to death magic, try using Mahamaon/Mamudoon or Samsara/Die for Me if you have them. Party members who don't have Hama/Mudo skills may use Segaki Rice and Curse Paper to help.

If not, the best way to go about it would be the hard way. Improve your strength and magic stats, up your attack and crit rate, hit with skills like Agneyastra and Megidolaon, and hope for the best.

When you say the 6th Dungeon, are you referring to Heaven? How strong are your stats?

list my party : MC, Chie, Yukiko and Naoto
1. Equip persona with skill auto mataru or auto masuku
2. Get player advantage
3. MC > use mind charge ( for megido or megidolaon ) or power charge ( if you have area physical skill or get yoshi tsune for hassuo tobi )
4. Chie > revolution > agneyastra
5. Naoto > vorpal blade or megidolaon

The problem with that strategy is that, by the second turn, all but one of the hands will have already fled, and the last one will have heavily boosted agility. Hence, by the time you can cast those boosted Megidolaons and Agneyastras, there'll be virtually no targets left - only a single hand who'll likely avoid one or both. I suppose it'd be different if you could get two turns in a row, but I'm not sure what kind of Agility you'd need for THAT considering how quick the hands themselves are.

As for my 'stats', I just hit level 90. No regular enemy in any area I have access to is even REMOTELY challenging at Normal difficulty-level. Honestly, I probably don't NEED the XP or Gold that these hands drop, I'm just endlessly frustrated by my inability to kill them while I'm hunting for materials and whatnot... speaking of, I could definitely use the Magatsu Xandrite they occasionally drop when you DO defeat them!

PS: They are most definitely NOT vulnerable to any kind of insta-kill. Honestly, I don't remember the last time that was the case. 2nd or 3rd dungeon, maybe?

Maybe you could grind a little more? With extensive grinding, I was already working with a persona with 99 for all stats by Void Quest, so I always moved first with an area attack. If I could get in a critical hit or two I'd get to move again and repeat the process. Levels count for less than stats imo, so if you have room to grow it might help. You might not need to grind crazily like I did but every little bit should help.

Honestly, grinding to 99 just to be able to kill critters who award massive amounts of XP seems a bit... contradictory. :P

1. I was bored.
2. I don't like seeing anything less than max.

I may be a bit late, but I hope this can be useful for someone. It happens that I just killed five Luxury Hands from the 6th dungeon with characters at level 60~63. So here is my advice.

They will always escape if the fight takes too long. There is nothing you can do about that. However they can escape much earlier under specific circumstances.
A hand will escape if it lands a knockdown on you or your party members. So watch out for weaknesses and critical hits. Maximize evasion rates and get personas that nullify or reflect such attacks. I would personally not recommend using Revolution as it raises critical rates for allies and enemies alike.
Also they are almost guaranteed to escape if they have the advantage for the start of the battle.

And that get us to the most important point : get player advantage. Seriously. This is half of the work toward defeating them.
You will get yourself a bunch of free actions before they can even make a single attack. Actions that you can use to buff/debuff and prepare a devastating first attack.

I personally had a Siegfried with Myriad Arrows (got this through a skill lvl up card), Apt Pupil and Power Charge. I dealt most of the damage while my party was applying buffs/debuffs.
Masukukaja + Masukunda will ensure that you hit your targets and a Marakunda or Rebellion is a nice addition. If you are lucky and get consecutive crits you can almost wipe them out in your 2nd turn. Also, don't forget that Kanji can ruthlessly murder any knocked down foe.

Good luck ;)

I managed to kill most of the golden hands thanks to Yosuke and Susano-O using Brave Blade which gets somewhere around lvl 79. I also had Anubis and basically spammed Megidolaon as it was one of the magic skills that could hit the golden hands. I could hit most of the golden hands in the previous dungeons only because I had been using Megidolaon and having Yukiko and Teddie just do normal attacks. I would've liked to get Yoshitsune with Hassou Tobi but I got him late in the game and ran out of time to get Hassou Tobi and Power Charge. One more thing I also got a Persona with Brave Blade but now I can't remember what it's called.

Mind charge + Megidolaon always works
