Looking for early-game tips??
Hey all,

Just jumped on the Persona 4 bandwagon and LOVING it so far.

It's my first playthrough, so I have no desire to 100% every social activity and balance every social activity (such as clubs etc) etc the first time through and am currently playing how I want to (other than the required S rank for the proper ending, no spoilers).

BUT, the only thing I am concerned with is balancing the social activities with the BATTLE/experience side of things.

For example, in the first dungeon (Yukiko castle), I finished the entire dungeon in 2 days. Should I be spending the remainder of my time before the "fog" doing social activities only? Or should I save a day or two for doing reruns of the dungeon to get experience?

All I'm asking is, how much time should I spend levelling up? While I enjoy being 'very slightly' overlevelled so I don't struggle against enemies, I also want to not waste any time and complete as many social activities as possible.

Thanks in advance:)

Follow-up question: Any tips for a good fusing path for early game to get the best available Personas? Mainly I want a Persona as early as possible with the Megidola skill or whatever so I can wipe out gold hands quickly, thus saving me grinding time:)

You should focus on raising your personality stats early on. When it's raining you should do the Mega Beef Bowl Challenge at Aiya's. There's only two Social Links you can do on rainy days. My best advice for the dungeons is to try and get through them in one day. Use traesto gems to leave the dungeon and have the fox restore your SP and use healing skills to restore HP. Try to fuse the highest level Personas you can and prioritize fusions that get bonus XP.

You unlock a method that allows you to restore SP in dungeons at the cost of Yen shortly before the second dungeon starts, allowing you to grind much more reliably.

If you're going back to grind, it's usually better to just save your SP and items on killing the Golden Hand enemies, as they give the most EXP of all enemies in the dungeon.

Even if you don't want to try and max every Social Link, it 's a good idea to minimize the days you spend in the TV, because your teammate Social Links are very important to surviving in general.

What are the benefits of the Aiya challenge? And where do I get these Traesto gems?

Also does it not matter which personas I fuse as long as they are the highest level?

The Aiya challenge will raise multiple personality traits by a large amount. Traesto gems can be bought from a store in shopping district south. It's right next to the weapon/armor shop.

Try not to fuse Personas with more then one weakness and try to get them a skill that makes them resistant or have a higher evasion to the type their week to. Your teammates also get a skill that evades the element they're week to if you max their Social Link. Only one of your allies has no weaknesses and they're the last one that joins your team in the late game.

None unfortunately. Almighty attacks do more damage to them, but at the point in the game you're at that's not possible. (The first Persona with an Almighty attack is Taotie at Level 35. He has innate Megido.)

You should focus on knocking them down and doing an All Out Attack on them. Chie is your best bet for this if you boost her accuracy, and the protagonist can competently handle it with a Physical-based Persona.

You should be fusing Personas away very often. It's not until around midgame (Dungeon 4 is a good midpoint) that you can start keeping them around because they're strong enough to justify keeping around. Black Frost in particular will probably hang around your roster for a while, and Titania outright Nulls Ice, which is the element the fourth boss specializes in.

So in summary:

Rainy days - Aiya's
Spend as little time in dungeons as possible
Remainder of days = Build Social Links?

Thank you all.

Use chie rebellion to get critical hit until you get or fusion persona with
megido or megidolaon skill

The most basic of basic and a clearer summary would be:

Do social links Dojima, Nanako, and Maria asap because of there time limit.

All stats can be gained easily through reading on rainy nights when you have nothing to do or Aiya.

I would suggest using rainy days for the Fox instead of Aiya when you have a quest completed for him.

Level your team after a few dungeons in because there is no time limit in the TV and you only get good gold hands after the first few dungeons. To kill them quick either create something with megidolion or have Chie try and MC try to crit it, most of the time you'll at least get one.

oh and if you care at all about trophies use one team for the first half of the game and switch all the members for the second half.

---

this still misses a bunch but first time through I would just do this and enjoy, you don't unlock everything until your NG+ anyway. This puts you on the path to unlock most stuff if you're lucky, most like you will only get the good ending though without prep work so you may have to play 2 or 3 more times to get the best ending if that is something you care about.

===

Since you don't care about 100% though and only want good Persona you can skip this and just work on tutoring for the Yoshi you build to have the best stats on creation. :P

its a special fusion in the fusion section that unlocks during regular gameplay so it will tell you what it needs. It's a high level one though, around 75, so it's late game build or NG+ build mostly.

Doesn´t Megido damage make Golden Hands run away ASAP? At least that´s my experience.

For me stuff that decreases evasion and increases hits is often good enough to soften them up, THEN I use Megido-likes.

It will be hard early game! I say wait till you reach/beat the club area.
Samuel is my fav for golden hands.
It will learn Megido at level 39 which is an almighty type attack "bypass any resistance"
Fight a bit till you get a skill LV UP card! "a little hard to come by :( it" it will change
Megido to Megidola "Heavy almighty group spell attack"
got it to Ma 48" - few Ma up cards "increase magic attacks"
Right now I do like 320-370 damage points to golden hands in the "str!pe club" area
Which is like 90% of their health.
If you encounter 3 golden hands = easy 7500 exp + 22500 ¥

Edit:

I just got a Skill up card and evolved it again to Megidolean
"Severe Almighty group attack spell" I erased a golden hand in the void dungeon.

How do you guys evolve a skill card??

I did some fusions on 24/6, which resulted in a Kaiwan persona with Victory Cry, Brave Blade, and Blight.

Does anyone know an efficient way of getting these 3 skills from Kaiwan onto a Izanagi persona through fusion?

All I know is that the only way to fuse into Izanagi is to fuse Oberiyon with Yomotsu-Shikome, but my problem is getting these 3 skills onto one of these 2 fool personas.

Any advice?

The Victory Cry skill card is obtained from ZA WARUDO. That's how I got it on my Izanagi:
