Need help playing on Linux (With Proton and/or Lutris)

Hey! I'm kinda new on Linux. I have Ubuntu. I've been trying to get the game running for 4-ish days now and I'm so close to just giving up. I have a very detailed Reddit thread with all the different solutions I've been trying. TL;DR is Proton launches the game, but I only get as far as the ATLUS and P-STUDIO logos and the intro never plays.

If I try Lutris, when I try to launch I get an error message saying "Unable to initialize SteamAPI. Please make sure Steam is running and you are logged in to an account entitled to the game."

I'm kinda desperate to get this working. Anyone on Linux with some tips? Pretty please?
