the answer is no
TL;DR
Teddie is the fkin Devil
i want to steal her panties
1) Yu got Izanagi and the ability to wield multiple Personas from Izanami, so neither Personas he uses are his original shadow/Persona. And the power of Izanami might've messed with his original shadow as well
2) Teddie has the same motifs as Persona 3's Ryoji, who happened to grow into being the MC's shadow. Among the similarities, both Yu and P3MC are the silent/calm type and they keep their love interests more to themselves, while both Ryoji and Teddie are pretty extroverts and major skirt chasers. Plus, neither Teddie or Ryoji remembered their true natures at first
3) The first sign Teddie has ever existed, at least in a physical form, was when Yu first got to the proper TV world (not counting that misty temple in the beginning). Teddie mentioned he has always been in the TV world, but he doesn't know how long it has been, so it might've been a few minutes since Yu first entered to a few years.
2) Teddie is just a shadow that grew a conscience.
3) Teddie himself remembers wandering the TV world looooooong before Yu ever entered the TV.
1) So how comes the killer and the "saviour" both have versions of Izanagi? (the first shown and the second implied). Iirc, Izanami says in the true ending route she has given these Personas.
2) Teddie's origin is never made totally clear, iirc. Also, as I mentioned, something might've gone awry by being affected by a collective shadow/goddess/whatever's the definition
3) A shadow is part of the self, so as long it exists in the person, it exists in the other world. And, iirc, someone mentions it's hard to tell the passage of time in the TV World. Maybe entering the temple in the beginning of the game or getting stuck in his room's TV could've been enough to trigger the appearance of a shadow of his own in the usual form that's shown in the franchise
1) Symbolism. If it wasnt obvious enough, the true killer is a reflection of Yu. Youre also ignoring the fact that the other person in the deal was also given a Persona even though he never uses one.
2) Teddie is a shadow. Thats about it. He just happened to appear like any other shadow.
3) The shadow in the TV world is a reflection of a person's true feelings and doubts. Yu doesnt get one since he was GIVEN a persona at the start of the game. A Persona is just a good shadow, they are the same thing.
2.: im not necessarily sure Teddie is a shadow, there are other being that exist other than shadows such as Izanami herself.
3: I believe every person has the ability to have a persona such as in P1/P2 just that not everyone gets lucky enough to unlock their persona and most peoples abilities lay dormant and are never used
2) Did you beat the game xD? Teddie is a shadow, even Yosuke figured it out and he isnt the brightest. Izanami is also not from the tv world, she's literally a god.
3) Correct. Yu, the killer, and the "other" are exceptions. They were given a Persona without needing to fight a shadow on purpose.
2: only Persona 4 on the ps2, i havent beat Golden yet. Maybe im a bit too Alex Jones on this, but still think Teddie is putting on a facade and its something more, seeing as only him and Izanami (in this game) have been seen to enter the "real" world and take on a more human form.
3: Liek i said before, i dont think they were "given" personas i believe the ability lies dormant and the power comes from someones own personality. I know the canon kinda changes from game to game, but the concept stems from Jungian philosophy on psychology. You know the saying like a person has three faces, one they show to others, one they keep to themselves, and one that is their true self
3) The power to earn a Persona is dormant, but the ability to gain a free pass and go straight to earning a Persona instead of overcoming a shadow was directly from Izanami.
2: If you pay attention to the teacher when you go to the school from Persona 3, he goes int detail about the lore behind Izanami, she was actually the wife of Izanagi. He went through a similar ordeal as Orpheus from greek mythology. After his wife died he went to the underworld to try to bargain for her soul, its a pretty grim story tbh.
3: Yeah she does unlock Yu's and the killers ( Nanako ) ability without having to face their shadow. There are other methods, but ill try to keep it to just P4.
3) Its actually never shown but the Heaven boss also has the ability to summon a persona he probably didnt know it though.
