Essential mods/fixes?
I'm starting this game for the first time and I want to have the best experience. I found tons of mods but I just don't know what to grab. What are the essential mods that don't change anything just improve graphics and stuff like that? Like I heard there's some gross motion blur, any good way to remove that?

Only mod I use is

It's a music mod that replaces a lot of the music in the game with remixed versions from spin-off games.

Example of one of my favorite replacements:

Certainly not 'essential', but I really like it... especially after playing the PS2 version. Really goes one step further to make it feel like an 'enhanced' version.

Other than that I don't think there is anything 'essential' out there.

First you should actually check what problems you have

the Motion Blur thing doesn't happen to some. It can be removed though by using "Special K" and setting it up.

Outside of that, I don't see anything "essential". There are some mods that fix small texture errors and etc. But nothing really essential

Download the most recent Hotfix and you should be as good as you can

I only get the motion blur from time to time when transitioning locations outside of dungeons. It only briefly lasts and is accompanied by some slow down.

I suspect this is where some people are crashing. Don't know why it does it... hope its fixed... but its a minor issue.

If you aren't using one of the beta branches, you'll probably at least want to patch the game's executable so it can use more than 2GB of RAM. https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371

I'd wait to see if you are actually experiencing crashes before doing that though...

I have around 115 hours in the game and not a single crash... beta branch or unpatched.

All you will ever need is listed there.
Does the improved fmv mod work with the latest hotfix?

Also thank you all, I had seen that but I wanted opinions on various bits within it.

Not supported doesn't mean doesn't work. That's why I asked.

No, sadly no.
We need to wait for the patches to become stable and then, maybe we are in luck.
Tough, with the latest hotfix, the video files are encoded with VC-1 and look a hella lot better.

Is there a mod that replaces all this new music trash with the old p4 music? I still think the OG tracks synergies with the game much better then the new tracks. Especially the opening Golden's opening is just unbearable along with the battle theme. WHAT WAS ATLUS THINKING!?
