how much does adachi s link matterr

so i started the adachi s link on 9/27 considering that i didnt trust him because it was spoiled for me that he was the killer , and now im kinda regretting starting it now because i think it might help in exposing him by getting maxed s link . What should i do

You can get the true ending and golden ending without maxing adachi's s link.

You can get the true ending without maxing any s links (Kinda hard tbh).

You cant get golden ending without maxing marie's s link.

so it doesnt matter if i dont have a high level s link for adachi? i have chie, yukiko, yosuke, and kanji maxed, and marie at 9 and rise at 6

First of: You still have a good amount of time maxing him. And note that you only have to level him up to S-Link Level 6.
Now to your actually qustion: No. The Adachi Link has no real impact in the actual story. However, leveling him to 6 will grant you 2 bonus Cutscenes before and after battling him and a POSSIBLE alternive Ending (A bad ending). Other than that he is completely optional.

Well, maxing him out also allows you to fuse a pretty badass persona later on but again is completely optional.

The only thing that maxing his link (level 6, last chance to hang out with him is November 1st) does is let you fuse Magatsu-Izanagi on the game's final day, which is to be fair a very powerful Persona.
