Quick ways to raise Understanding and Diligence?

This is absurd, but I'm fairly late in the game (10/1, Naoto secured) and while I have the actually difficult stats to raise maxed (Knowledge, Courage, Expression) I still have, well, the titular stats unmaxed. Any quick and dirty ways to raise them? I'm at Diligence 4 and Understanding 3 if it helps any.

Edit: literally just hit Understanding 4 after reading a book but I guess the question still stands

By doing some part time work. I think diligence is raised by making envelopes and understanding by creating origami cranes. There are books you can read that get you an extra stat point for these activities. And you can get some understanding I think from the daycare job so you can potentially do that while working on that social link.

i think you didnt play your days correctly cuz on november i got all my stats maxed out.Try reading books and do part time jobs.

Probably. I mostly focused on social links during the Secret Laboratory downtime. I kinda rushed to finish Lovers before Heaven and I'm trying to get Chariot and Fortune done.

Understanding is in my opinion the hardest stat to raise
If you just got rank 4 you have probably around 80 points in that stat and if you want to reach rank 5 you will need 140
You can get +3 points by making origami cranes in your room +6 if you read the fitting book
You can play with the cat in front of your house. It will give you +3 Expression and then +3 understanding. But this only works the first couple of times afterwards the cat only gives you +3 Expression each time.
You can also work at the pub in the evening to get +3 diligence and a another different stat boost depending on which customer is there on the given day
You can also get +3 from eating at the ramen shop on rainy days
