english or japanese voices?
honestly I was fine with p3 and p5 in japanese but I actually can't stand it in this game

P4's English cast is too good to the point where the japanese one is just actually worse in comparison

b)saying "not everyone goes after quallity" kinda implies that i was saying that they do. which i wasn't.
c)i didn't bring up something unrelated, a mental illness (dylexia is disability, not a mental illness like depression), or "the children" i single time. i mention 3 reason why someone wouldn't want (or be able to) read text at the bottom of the screen while trying to watch/play something. again. dense?
d)yah i have trouble reading subs because i physically have trouble reading because i'm dyslexic and near sighted. if i take my glasses off without squiting i can't read what i'm typing, dispite being less than 3 feet away from my screen.
i had all the time in the world to read what you said, and even did multiple times, it just makes no effing sense.
e)indeed.
f)the part about getting it a lot, or the part about it being easier? because both are.
g)have you seriously never heard of dragon quest.... please tell me i have that wrong....

B) It implies that some people will pick objectively worse product over a better one for their personal reason. It's not as deep as you think.
C/D) When I say ůSomething like" I really mean somethink like the example, not "Exactly the example.". And I suppose I'm sorry for your condition and all the other 3 people who ever joined this particular discussion and have this discussion? Or what do you want me to say? It's pretty odd to join in on dub/sub discussions when you literally can't do one of the two options.
D) It's a saying. Laughing at you, not with you. Implying that even if the person in question may believe people laugh at joke they made, people laugh because the person is a (unwilling) jester.
F) Yeah, probably both.
G) Heard, yes. Alas I really dislike the particular animator/designer responsible, so really just heard.
b)ah yes, because there is objective truth to which LANGUAGE sounds better.
you have no idea how good the voice acting is, it could be the worst you've ever heard and you wouldn't be able to tell because you don't understand a word.
c/d)yes because being dyslexic (43.5 million people) or being nearsighted (40% of the US) is definitly an issue with only me and 2 other people. yes. i physically can't read subs in cutscenes or shows.
WHY THE HELL DO YOU THINK I WANT THINGS TO HAVE BOTH!?
d)yah like i said. it makes no sense, since what said wasn't going for a laugh. it was going for annoying elietists like some dude named elvi.
g)how effing convienient.

Always original voices

Why is this even a question? Always in the original language. Eng dub suck
Right? And not just Eng dub, Japanese dubs of western media sucks as well.
Play like you want and prefer. I am used to American cast, so I will stick with it. In Persona 5 although I am playing in ♥♥♥.
Dubbing in Persona 4 Golden is one of the best with a great cast featuring Troy Baker or Laura Bailey.

In japanese Chie has the voice that fit her perfectly, Naoto also have a voice that fit her well because of her "gender" (her english voice is way too "girly") Kanji, Adachi and Dojima have really great voices too.
The only annoying ones are Teddie and Rise (and her Persona is OP) and I mean very annoying.
Some people don't like Japanese Igor as well, but I wouldn't say he's bad. Just quite different and possibly showing the VA's failing health at the time.

i mean yah, the voice acting in persona games is actually good so the only reason to pick japanese is because you're pretentious smug an elietist prick just a person who prefers japanese
That may be the case if you are a native english speaker but if you're not there's a debate. Being in this second case, I recognize that the English dubbing is good but the Japanese one remains much better (despite 2 horrible characters).
A lot of problems with both versions is that sometimes Atlus West had to change dialogues, so they would made sense at all. The best example is completly changed S.Link rank 10 Naoto romance route. The text will be completly different from what Naoto is talking.
Also thanks that we have few funny scenes, because characters still learns english in school and talk about it as a foreign language. The best was probably Ryuji and his "Why I need to learn english? I am not gonna used it all anyway!"

I really can't tell if you're trolling or not, or just actually really dense, but people who prefer the JP audio in this game aren't Japanese language supremacists obviously, nor are we "elitists", you're allowed to play the game with English audio if you want, by all means go ahead if you prefer it. However, people have this thing called "an opinion" and you gotta love how people who liked the English dub and disliked the JP dub are fine, but people who like the JP dub and disliked the English dub are all of a sudden so called "elitists".

I've played quite a few Japanese games with Japanese audio and I've learned some of the language through it, but there's also this thing...I don't know if you've heard of it or not...but it's called subtitles, so you can read what the character is saying.

So just to explain things to you very simply: People who play with the JP audio for this game (or even any Japanese game or anime that contain an Englsih dub), either listen to it likely, but not necessarily, for one of these two reasons: #1: they think the English dub is annoying/bad, so they listen to the JP audio, or #2: they think the JP voices are better and/or suit the characters more, or it's a combination of both of these two. It's that simple, we're not Japanese language supremacists you wacko.
here's the only objective facts about the audio comparison for this port:

JP has consistent quality in acting-wise, but sadly has a really bad audio compression.

Some of EN's Golden portions are just badly voiced, and i mean BAD. Like they're just thrown in at the last second. There's a significant dialogue in the story line when (*MAJOR PLOT SPOILERSNamatame's voice changes drastically during the hospital scene when he mentioned about going to the party's band performance on Junes, and the severe drop in quality was so jarring.

i was okay with the drop in voice acting quality when it comes to side sub-plots like the beach scene, but not during significant plot points like these ones.

Other than that it's completely subjective. Some dislikes Chie's EN voice, i HATE teddie's/Kuma's JP voice with a passion, and some of you might have your other own preferences.
But that's all it is, preferences. And it's pointless to fight about preferences.

a)i am. i'm literally just doing this to get under a certain type of person's skin.
b)and the fact that you're saying this part is proof that you're not that type of person.
c)i stand corrected.
d)can't really say anything on this, since it's a case by case basis, but in this game's case specifically the english voice acting is some of the best there is with the sole exception of teddy, so if you don't like it then yes you're an elietist.
e)they wouldn't be able to tell if they were horrible if they wanted to, since 99% of the time they have no idea what the voices are saying so you can't tell if it's good or bad. the only game i personally have played where i actually used japanese voices is xenoblade chronicles 2, and i ended up missing half of the cutscene lines because i'm dyslexic, and i missed the other half because i was watching the cutscene in a part of the screen other than the very bottom
f)didn't say you were. i said a lot of you are elietest snobs who don't care how good voice acting is if it isn't japanese.

Welp there you go, there's no point for someone to even continue giving you their time of day for a discussion on this topic since people who disagree with you are "REEEE ELITISTS"

oh i don't give half a damn about what language you use most of the time. but if you try to justify it with a stupid reason like that, then yah i'm gonna make fun of you
While the eng dub is pretty good and technically produced better. The jp voice really fits more naturally with a lot of the situations and character. Rise sounds like a nyan style girl instead of just a ditsy girl, Naoto's concealment of her voice is better so the impact of her reveal ("atashi" instead of "boku" as opposed to "higher pitch voice") is harder, Kanji's and Yosuke's spoken mannerisms ("-ze") are more in line with the characters' personalities, some of the events are slightly more hilarious like the crossdressing pageant. Plus Marie is voiced by Kana Hanazawa which makes it an auto win for me.

Don't get me wrong though, Johnny Yong ♥♥♥♥♥, Laura Bailey, and the others are FANTASTIC in their roles, so neither is "better" and it's all about your preference.
