you have no idea how good the voice acting is, it could be the worst you've ever heard and you wouldn't be able to tell because you don't understand a word.
c/d)yes because being dyslexic (43.5 million people) or being nearsighted (40% of the US) is definitly an issue with only me and 2 other people. yes. i physically can't read subs in cutscenes or shows.
WHY THE HELL DO YOU THINK I WANT THINGS TO HAVE BOTH!?
d)yah like i said. it makes no sense, since what said wasn't going for a laugh. it was going for annoying elietists like some dude named elvi.
g)how effing convienient.
Dubbing in Persona 4 Golden is one of the best with a great cast featuring Troy Baker or Laura Bailey.
The only annoying ones are Teddie and Rise (and her Persona is OP) and I mean very annoying.
Also thanks that we have few funny scenes, because characters still learns english in school and talk about it as a foreign language. The best was probably Ryuji and his "Why I need to learn english? I am not gonna used it all anyway!"
I've played quite a few Japanese games with Japanese audio and I've learned some of the language through it, but there's also this thing...I don't know if you've heard of it or not...but it's called subtitles, so you can read what the character is saying.
So just to explain things to you very simply: People who play with the JP audio for this game (or even any Japanese game or anime that contain an Englsih dub), either listen to it likely, but not necessarily, for one of these two reasons: #1: they think the English dub is annoying/bad, so they listen to the JP audio, or #2: they think the JP voices are better and/or suit the characters more, or it's a combination of both of these two. It's that simple, we're not Japanese language supremacists you wacko.
JP has consistent quality in acting-wise, but sadly has a really bad audio compression.
Some of EN's Golden portions are just badly voiced, and i mean BAD. Like they're just thrown in at the last second. There's a significant dialogue in the story line when (*MAJOR PLOT SPOILERSNamatame's voice changes drastically during the hospital scene when he mentioned about going to the party's band performance on Junes, and the severe drop in quality was so jarring.
i was okay with the drop in voice acting quality when it comes to side sub-plots like the beach scene, but not during significant plot points like these ones.
Other than that it's completely subjective. Some dislikes Chie's EN voice, i HATE teddie's/Kuma's JP voice with a passion, and some of you might have your other own preferences.
But that's all it is, preferences. And it's pointless to fight about preferences.
b)and the fact that you're saying this part is proof that you're not that type of person.
c)i stand corrected.
d)can't really say anything on this, since it's a case by case basis, but in this game's case specifically the english voice acting is some of the best there is with the sole exception of teddy, so if you don't like it then yes you're an elietist.
e)they wouldn't be able to tell if they were horrible if they wanted to, since 99% of the time they have no idea what the voices are saying so you can't tell if it's good or bad. the only game i personally have played where i actually used japanese voices is xenoblade chronicles 2, and i ended up missing half of the cutscene lines because i'm dyslexic, and i missed the other half because i was watching the cutscene in a part of the screen other than the very bottom
f)didn't say you were. i said a lot of you are elietest snobs who don't care how good voice acting is if it isn't japanese.
Don't get me wrong though, Johnny Yong ♥♥♥♥♥, Laura Bailey, and the others are FANTASTIC in their roles, so neither is "better" and it's all about your preference.
