Unless you grind hard, yeah, there will be no real way for you to buy everything new available, and you probably shouldn't even bother that much, really

Armor can be found in chests that are locked with a key(or unlocked ones too). Weapons can actually be obtained by fisherman trading in fishes that he wants (this re-rolls EVERY month and weapons are ALWAYS specific, not random)

Also, you don't need new armor on absolutely everyone to survive. At the end of the day, you simply will take more damage which is fine on lower-dungeon levels. You may even get armor in the dungeon

Ways to save money? Get Fox to a high level, the discount she provides will be mandatory for you to go out there and use SP as much as possible to farm shadows, that way you won't spend as much gold on SP as you can get from 1 fight, AND all the items that you get post-battle can be sold to the Armorer. Try that

Get Yoshitsune and farm golden hands. Or get a different persona with good AOE (important!) physical skills and hope to kill the hands before they escape. I've finished the game with about 1 million yen in my pocket and I didn't even farm the hands that much. Also, ignore the crap Daidara sells, you can get much better stuff by beating optional bosses, or just farm the Reaper, because he always gives you the absolute best stuff in the game for your party.

You can also configure the difficulty settings in-game and crank up how much Zenny you get from fights. Won't prevent achievements from happening. You get a metric crap ton of Zenny this way, so if you just want to reduce the Zenny grind but still leave the XP grind and regular combat difficulty you can tweak this singular setting.

Dude why the hell are you suggesting such LATE game stuff without even knowing what part of the game the guy is in?! I mean, hell, I've beaten the game 4 times on my PS2 version and I think only in 1 playthrough I was ever considering going for a reaper. He is stronger than True Ending's bosses so please... same goes for Yoshitsune, that's like lvl 75 persona. I was never that level even by finishing the game. Your advice is garbage, sorry. You are suggesting something that can be done after like 70 hours in the game

Bull. I was around 70 by the end of Secret lab, because I was actually farming resources for quests and went through every dungeon twice for the optional bosses. Also, the Reaper is hella easy once you get decent skills for the party, especially if you roll with Yukiko's salvation and Teddies Mediarahan at the same time. Reaper is way tougher in P5R than it is here. And there is only one really tough boss in the game, the one you get after going for the Golden ending, due to her resistances. If you don't know to collect the items or don't have break skills you're in for a tough time. I finished the game around 90ish level when I was playing P4 for the first time on PS2 and I've gotten to level 96 by the point I've beaten Golden on PC. However, you don't have to be high level to get some amazing personas, because you can transplant null and dodge skills to pretty much anything if you are being strategic with your fusions and actually take your time to level up certain personas. It's especially easy here, since you can get level and skill up cards during shuffle time. As I said, even if you're having tough time beating the Reaper, just go for the optional bosses to get good stuff. Also, some quests actually reward you with decent stuff, so there's a reason to do them.

Bull? It's not bull when you literally grinded so hard. The game is designed so that your level is close to your enemies' levels and iirc secret lab is what, lvl 35-45? You were way too overleveled so stop comparing. I only go into the dungeon once - to clear the previous dungeon again for the boss and do the new one with the new boss all in 1 go (thanks to fox). Now maybe I could have been sitting there for eternity but why would I do that?

Also, wtf, the game hasn't even been out for 2 weeks but you are already lvl 96? Are you playing it like 15 hours a day or something?

Just crank up earned gold to High, already slogged through the game on PS2, don't feel like being limited by gold again.

thread pretty much.

this is an old game and it shows in a lot of ways. without save states or speed up functions you'd get from an emulator, you gotta do what you gotta do to take out some of the tedium with it.

I have 60 hours and change right now, and I've been doing this for half the game. It's completely feasible, it just requires the work put in. I also had player level 99, and my primary team all third tier personas at level 99, and the compendium done save NG+ and a handful of SL personas before finishing my first (PC) playthrough the other night.

This is also a valid way to deal with OP's issue.

I didn't get a reliable enough method aside from grinding and selling all the items, until the Void quest dungeon. If you got Personas with Almighty spells during that, you can use them to take down the Golden Hands there easily. You get like 7k from one of them, and they usually come in pairs, sometimes 3's. If you're lucky enough to get the Money Up shuffle card with 3+ or more as well, you're in the money.

Step 1: Turn the money option in the settings to get more cash
Step 2: get a persona with an Almighty skill ( the earliest one you can get it on is taotie )
Step 3: find golden hands and kill em
Step 4: PROFIT!

Golden Hands. You don't necessarily need a persona with an almighty skill, but it helps a lot. I think the earliest point you can fuse one is level 35, which you likely won't be at until after Kanji's dungeon. I could be wrong though. Early game you can get by with buffs and regular multi-hit skills.
