reaper chain sound?

why's there a reaper chain sound on every dungeons? and i never enconter/found him

Just tells you that you now CAN encounter the Reaper as you opened enough chests. After that it's all just a chance to get the encounter when you open more. Pretty sure you can find plenty guides on how/where to save abuse untill you get him for sure if you really want him.

20-22 chests if I'm correct
the reaper doesn't appear if you open a key chest while the chains are rattling
the louder the chains the closer you are to the chest it is in
you should have the right chest if you interact with it and Teddie/Rise tell you they have a bad feeling and not to open it
once the right chest is opened, prepare for hell.

This is my experience at least, good luck
After defeating it for a 4th/5th time I wasn't able to encounter it again.

The chains play every 20 chests you open. This is saved between TV World visits and doesn't reset even if you leave or use a Goho-M. Once you hear the chains, that means there's a chance that the Reaper has hidden in a chest on that floor. If you try to open a chest that the Reaper is hiding in, your Navigator will in no uncertain terms tell you "never open that, get away from it," and you have to go through two prompts to actually do it.

It's not a 100% chance. Encountering him is actually really rare unless you're actively trying to. I only 'accidently' got the hiding in box prompt once in my entire PSVita playthrough somewhere in the Secret Laboratory, all other encounters I did on purpose.

He disappears from all chests on that floor and you have to open another 20 to respawn him if you either leave the floor, open a chest he's not in, or fight a few times (not certain on the last one.)

Right you are, funny thing, I never realised the rattling gets louder the closer you are, mostly tone the sound down for dungeons haha.

OP, do keep in mind it's lvl 85 bossfight tho, even tho you can technically start the fight on like a level 10, you probably do not want to do that.

If you want to forcibly spawn him, running through Yukiko's Castle is pretty much the easiest way, especially since the 5th floor tends to drop fairly valuable items even late-game (like Shields and Mirrors) and the floor is practically guaranteed to have a good number of chests.

The reaper spawns in the next chest you open when you hear the sound as long as its on the same floor you first heard it on. (he spawns after 20-21 chests opened)

In my first two dungeons on my PC playthrough I happen to run out of chest on that floor when it happens lol

i REALLY hate the way the reaper can appear in this. by the time ive heard the chain sound, ive opened ALL the non locked chests in that floor...

@DevilsMilitia The Yukiko Castle exploit is the easiest way to corner him since there are only 2 chest on the 5th floor.
