For some reason I only have these crashes recently. 30h No crashes and now every hour. How can this be?
Xenres Jun 23, 2020 @ 1:07pm
Fix Your pc maybe. Idk how You people have problems always. Since years never had really problems with any game. This one works perfect too.

You can find a patch to make the game large address aware. It's on the forums here somewhere. It's called something like 4gb_patch.exe IIRC.

I've patched mine and it still a little shakey/crashey at times. Usually once the game loads up and runs for more than 5 mins it's going to keep running though.

They desperately need to release a 64-bit exe, but this is Atlus + Sega we're talking about here so maybe it comes out tonight, maybe never...

@Xenres
Good for you. This game crashes for LOTS of people because it's a 32-bit exe and the game runs out of memory. Nothing wrong with their PC's.

I don't think the crash has anything to do with the 32-bit exe because if that was the case, everyone should be experiencing the crash because that's not PC specific. That should be a hard limitation for everyone.

I played for 10 hours straight when I started my playthrough and it didn't crash a single time. I even alt-tabbed like 100 times and it didn't crash there either, and it hasn't crashed since. Not saying the crash doesn't exist, I just think there's something else going on.

Good point. I did find it weird that it kept crashing after patching, but anecdotally it's more stable after the large address patch.

It's worth a shot, at least.

Yeah I haven't patched my game or done anything outside of what Atlus has provided. What settings are you all using and what specs?
sauceroll Jun 23, 2020 @ 1:39pm
My game tends to crash relatively often, its actually starting to drive me mad. It crashes randomly whenever I'm either in the TV world, levelling up, or in a dungeon. This has happened about 10 times now and I've lost about at least 4 hours of progress across the board now, I keep having to buy Goho-M's to try save before it happens but its unpredictable so it just keeps happening.

It just happened again now and I'm at my wits end and I don't even know what to do. If you're wondering, my specs are nowhere near bad for this game and I can paste them if anyone is even interested

I'm pretty much having this same exact issue. No crashes early game, then afterwards now I crash either every few hours, or sometimes every hour.

im apparently getting a crash that happens a 50/50 chance where a anime cutscene plays after i've been playing for a hour or longer, just now my game crashed just after beating the final boss (I AM SO INFURIATED RIGHT NOW)

I have to use the 4GB patch and enable the vsync or the game will freeze and stop responding for me occasionally at random when I play on two cpu cores. The strange thing is if I use all 4 cpu cores then it doesn't do that for me. My cpu is a Core 2 Quad Q9550S (2.83 GHz). My video card is a Nvidia GTX 750 TI. I'm using driver version 446.14. Windows 10 Pro x64, 8 GB ram.

I just keep crashing in the intro cutscene :0
gonna try the patch and see if I can get a little further, if not I'll just refund since I'm under 2 hours.
Would a shame if I have to tho

You could try to edit the ini file by hand and change the vsync to 1. Maybe that would allow you to get into the game without it crashing. Its located at

%localappdata%\Sega\P4G\P4G.INI

There might be some other video setting you could modify in there that would stop it from crashing if its some kind of setting malfunctioning in your video card driver or invalid default video resolution that is not working for you. I'm not sure what the nature of your issue is exactly, so no telling.

You could also just delete the INI file and the game will remake it the next time you start it.
