Victory Cry in the first dungeon...? I'm not sure if you're joking or you don't know what that skill is.
Anyway, there are no strategies required. All you have to do is grind until you are strong enough to beat the boss. There is no need to manage SP since you can just find SP recovery items in the chests, and get post battle recovery from cards. And you can do this on every difficulty, for every dungeon. It's not even hard, it just takes time. The better you are, the less time it will take. There is absolutely no reason for you to take more than single day to finish any dungeon, unless the story prevents you from doing it.
Basiclly, as some have already said, you need to grind floors for xp, shuffle time cups and soul drops. And make sure to have the right personas in your party. Belive I had Jack Frost with Bufula, Fire Resist and Rakunda as one, and then a few diffrent with healing skills, buffs and the right resistances. So you basiclly switch personas as much as possible. Learn the attacks of the boss and make sure you have a persona equpped that can take that attack, or atleast take the hit without dying. And a bonus, don't All Out Attack, you do more dmg doing Bufula twice on the boss.
Just finished Kanjis on the first day aswell, though I had the Fox now, which makes everything much easier. But the boss still hits like a truck, so get ready to grind and fuse the right Personas.
Good Luck, you can do it!
It's hard to really pin-point what I did, especially considering I came in having already played it on the Vita. Go for Cups cards, run the first floor a few times to farm Soul Drops and Snuff Soul to get your team to full SP before Yukiko, and fuse the strongest Personas possible.
I challenged her at level 14 for Archangel personally, but going up to 16 lets you get Jack Frost and therefore Bufula on the protagonist, which I imagine makes things much simpler. I died once to her because she rolled double crits on the protagonist and insta-killed him from 80% but that's my fault.
Use the shield items if things are getting tense, have Yosuke buff Evasion constantly (especially on himself and Chie since Yukiko usually aims for their weaknesses), and remember that focusing and taking down the Prince makes Yukiko skip a turn, which can give some breathing room for casting Media.
Save your SP items up until you reach floor 8. Patch yourself up and defeat the boss.
Personas with physical abilities help a lot on the way to floor 8, high level personas with Fire resistances help while you are in the bossfight. I did the boss on level 14 wit Oberon with little to no trouble on normal.
