Sandman in Yukiko's Castle

I'm following a guide to get the best ending and max all social links, and I'm suppose to get a Magician and a Strength persona before fighting Shadow Chie. I found Pixie and I know you can get Sandman but it's rare. Is there a way to exit this dungeon and go to Velvet Room to fuse Pixie and Angel and make a Sandman through fusion? I don't know how to get there from the castle and I can't exit the location.

You can use the item to leave the dungeon, or walk down to floor 1 and leave.

Sandman:

Angel - Pixie
Apsaras - Pixie
Forneus - Izanagi
Titan - Valkyrie

What is the item? I can't leave, or maybe I'm trying to leave the wrong way, cause Kuma and Yosuke don't let me.

Goho-M, if you can't leave it would mean its scripted.

I don't think you're allowed to leave before reuniting with Chie, which means until after the Shadow Chie fight. There's no real opportunity to fuse Personas before then.

I guess you're right. I'm just gonna reload the save and try to get Sandman through Shuffle. Thanks guys.

I think you only need Sandman that early to make the fight easier instead of timing restriction.

You can fuse personas before you get to the point where you actually need Sandman. If your MC is at least level 5 and you have access to Pixie and either Angel or Apsaras, you can fuse the Sandman you need. You'll need to resummon Pixie from the Compendium for Yosuke's social link, but Pixie is really cheap and you should be able to afford it.

Thank you, but I was trying to leave the dungeon in that first mission where Yukiko is missing, I guess it's not possible. Maybe you can enter Velvet Room only after that.

Don't forget you should be able to access the Velvet room from the shopping area, which doesn't pass time, it might not help for this one, but it can be handy for later.

Do yourself a favor and ditch that guide. All your doing is ruining the game for yourself following a script. Your not accomplishing anything because somebody else figured it out for you. Your not really gaining anything because it won't change the game in any significant way.

You aren't required to finish the dungeon with the persona, you are required to be able to have the persona without going back into the dungeon. that's a bit different.

That mean as long as you keep some money and find some persona during your excursion you can fuse later in the shop district south, and also swap out/in persona for a price if you don't have enough space. If you play on normal it's not a big deal, if you play on very hard money is scarce so you do need to plan a bit more.

you get a bonus for a SL if you start a SL event (asking someone to spend time) and you have a persona of the same "type" (magician = yosuke for example) in your "inventory" while doing so. the game tell you before you ask spending time if you do actualy have a persona that fit the criteria.

You only need to be a little careful when you need to spend some time for a SL during the night since it's not always possible to access the velvet room during this time. That, and some type don't have very low level persona so sometime you need to make sure to have the required level to fuse the first one.

The first dungeon you do is scripted, you cannot save or fuse - but later you can either leave by feet or using a go home item, and then walk out to the common entrance (cinema studio) to save and fuse here. Leaving with an item allow you to teleport directly back to the same stage instead of starting from 1.

@viper if you don't mind stay in topic, nobody asked if it's better to use the guide or not. People are different and don't all think the same.
