Class questions are starting to take the...

I'm just getting into the gameplay loop on 20th April now. The questions during class before were neat trivia like the alphabet, even though I didn't get any of them right, but today's was just... what? How am I even supposed to know that?

It was something to do with "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" which I assume is a japanese novel series. There's literally no way to expect anyone to not just try and guess the answer. I figured there was no localization beyond translation, though now it's directly affecting gameplay.

I don't want to read a guide for this game as it dulls the experience and turns things into min/maxing and kills exploration. But if I get every single question wrong how badly will that hurt my progress? If I can't answer these questions, how much am I going to lose out? Can I even beat the game?

Cant get them all right.Most of them are not overly difficult and there not going to change the question just to Westernize the game.

Ok, to knock them down one by one.

1. Won't hurt progress, you just miss out of social stats (you might get chewed out by Dojima tho)
2. You will simply lose out of some chances to boost Knowledge and Expression (assuming yo bomb every question).
3. It does not change the games ending and it doesn't hold you back from beating it.

Also, never thought I would say this about any game, but if you want to pass those exams make sure to boost the knowledge stat and take notes (because studying).

Answering questions correctly in class raises your Knowledge or Expression; sometimes it gains you extra "favor points" for your Social Link progress that might save you a day worth of interaction. Unless you are going for maxed Social Links AND maxed social parameters in one run, you don't lose much from giving wrong answers in class, and you can beat the game just fine. As for the endings, certain choices must be made and certain social links must be maxed to get a specific ending (True and the new Bad Ending).

I'm just annoyed because I played the original enough to have memorized all the answers and now the questions are entirely different.

You'll survive, just like you survived (I assume) highschool not knowing the answer to every question a teacher asked you. If you cannot live without getting every answer right, just scumsave or check an answer guide. BTW, Murakami is fairly popular in the west.
