Playstation UI and button prompts

Hey, so I'm glad this game is on PC and has great KB&M controls, but I still prefer playing games like these with a controller. This game does support controllers as well, but will only display Xbox buttons. I'm hoping someone has a mod or something that changes the buttons to playstation buttons, because if so I would love to obtain it lmao

Seriously, it's amazing how the DS4 support through Steam's big picture still doesn't support wireless in 2020. Playstation UI/Prompts only work if you're plugged in through a usb. I remember there was a mod for Yakuza 0 where if you were using SCPToolkit/DS4Windows you could replace the XBOX prompts with PS3/PS4 prompts. I'm hoping there will a mod for that soon.. I would do if I wasn't a brainlet.

huh weird this game dont have a ps4 prompt? yet i was using switch pro controller and it using Switch prompt w/ "+","-", ZR &ZL

It does but it only supports the prompts in wired mode

what? I play this with a wireless PS4 controller and I have Playstation button UI.

I just use DS4 and the Playstation button UI work fine

Do you have the official ps4 sony dongle? Seems like you're the only one without this problem out of hundreds. I use wireless ps4 controller with bluetooth and I either get steam/xbox button prompts. I eventually gave up and now I'm playing without ps4 prompts.

Had no idea that a PS4 dongle even existed. I also use my PS4 controller with bluetooth, though I also have the application DS4. Might want to look into it and see if it works for you.

I use a DS4 controller and a 3rd party bluetooth adapter, pairing the controller to that. I don't use any 3rd party software for the controller. In Steam's Controller settings you need to deselect Playstation 4. If you do that, the game recognizes the controller and you get Playstation button prompts in game.

I think that when you select "playstation 4" in Steam's controller menu, in fact Steam recognizes your controller but fakes it as an xinput controller. I use InputtMapper software for other situations (for instance using my PS4 controller on XBOX app on PC), but for this game I need to not use it and deselect Playstation 4 support on Steam menu.

Deselecting PS4 controller support in my steam menu fixed the issue. That is honestly very strange, but at least now I'm playing the game with the proper button prompts. Thanks guys!

Sigh. For Steam big picture all of the options have been turned off ever since the start. Deselecting PS4 Controller did nothing but put steam controller prompts for me at the very start, so then I decided to just give up and use DS4Windows. I used DS4Tools like LinkFromDaPast mentioned, but it still doesn't work for me sadly. It's very frustrating since even Steam detects my controller as PS4, but P4G just won't budge for me. Thanks for trying to help though, really appreciate it.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, but can you recheck if you have correctly disabled the DS4 controller for this game specifically- you only need disable the controller on per-game basis. There's no need to disable the controller via BPM> Settings, disabling per-game is the preferred solution. Just in case, these are the steps:
Plug in controller > Open BPM > The Game > Manage Game > Controller Options > Steam Input per-game setting > Change from 'Global Setting (PS)' to 'Forced Off'.

Also do ensure no other tools like DS4Windows or InputMapper are running in the background. Now start Persona 4G. If the game does not show DS4 prompts still, quit the game, disable bluetooth, plug in the controller and test whether now the game shows DS4 prompts. Good luck.

Oh no, I meant that the controller doesn't have the correct prompts for me whenever I'm on bluetooth. It always shows up DS4 prompts when I'm wired. Sorry if my first post on here was confusing, as I kind of said that the prompts work whenever it's through usb when I should've said wired. It's just that I don't want to play wired since my preferred method has always been bluetooth, so at this point I don't mind giving up the correct prompts to enjoy it wirelessly. Thank you for your efforts though.
