softlocked? please help :(

i'm in the shadow chie fight. last time i used an all-out attack, character portraits that flash stayed for longer than they should and it took a second to get back to gameplay, but in the end it was fine. however, when i used it in this fight, i am now literally softlocked. the UI is gone, save for a yellow bar at the top of the screen, and literally nothing is happening. is there a fix? it didn't let me save before the first dungeon and i don't want to lose everything

okay. after accidentally opening the calculator on my keyboard, it is now working again

welp. it's glitched again. the narukami and yosuke portraits are stuck on screen, and approx. nothing is happening.

still softlocked. beginning to wonder if there even is a fix. i love persona and i want to play this game so bad but it's just been nothing but bugs so far :(

has literally anyone else had this issue? i really don’t want to have to start again from the last save, esp if it means going through all the dialogue again

Yep, just had this issue myself. Happened about 10~ hours into the game, no issues other than that. Luckily, I only lost about 30 minutes of game play. Didn't alt-tab at all.

Someone said in another thread that alt tabing works.

In worst case, you can use "z" to skip dialogues

well, unfortunately i got completely softlocked and nothing stopped it. had to shut the game and go back to the day before. it’s really annoying, but oh well.

went through the dungeon again. all out attacks working fine. second all out attack of chie fight. now stuck with the character portraits again. i have tried alt tabbing. a fix would be very appreciated so i don’t have to trawl through everything a third time.

repeatedly alt tabbed and it fixed. no clue what causes it. will update this thread if it continues or if i find potential fixes that defo work.

Why dont you just save before the fight? You can go back to the main area and save in the butterfly and then you can just go straight to the last floor you left off (final floor since youre at the boss)

oh, shadow chie is on the second floor, it’s not the actual boss. repeat alt tabbing seems to fix it, albeit very inconsistently.

welp! it’s the next day, and first fight in it’s happened again. alt tabbing has not fixed. if i can expect this the entire game i’m not sure i have the willpower to finish it

Oops I actually forgot about the Chie part being in the second floor. But anyways this is such a weird issue, I havent had any bugs in my game at all except for some animations freezing for a second. Do you quickly button mash to do the attack? I remember I did a lot of AOT on that fight but I never really had much problems
