Though interestingly apparently early in development Yousuke was planned to come out later in the game.
Though perhaps Atlus might be more considerate and make either Yosuke or Kanji gay to add some representation within the Persona series? I am still mad that they didn't have any in Persona 5 since Yusuke and Ryuji were both very lovable.
MAKE them gay? That's just not their character. You're part of the issue of the Toxic part of LGBT. Demanding changes to characters instead of having well written characters that happen to be gay/female/etc. Stick to your ships and ♥♥♥♥ off. Atlus isnt homophobic for shilling a badly written character to be gay, you're acting like its a choice. Piss off now :)
Being able to date Yosuke in P4 would have felt wrong imo, and it would have felt even more wrong if they added that option in Golden if it wasn't available in the base game. That's just my opinion on properly implementing gay characters though. Plus I see the protagonists as having a fairly set-in-stone personality, so giving the player the option to be gay in an upgraded version of the game would also feel wrong for that reason.
I think it's totally possible for Atlus to properly implement gay romance options in a possible P6, but I doubt they would try it, seeing how they only seem to piss people off with their minority representation. They'll probably play it safe and just have hetero relationships.
"Poke fun" as in "makes jokes about them being pedophiles."
Persona isn't going to have gay representation while Hoshino is director as he's extremely conservative even for Japan.
Also nice to know that Persona / SMT elitists are as homophobic as the producer for Persona 3, 4, and 5 that has said he, "cannot see guys and girls as just being friends." As well being a huge homophobe about it as well.
Thanks to people like the OP pushing their agenda down the others' throats, I came to hate lots of English words that used to be normal: diversed, inclusive and a freaking rainbow color.
Let the artists freely express their vision. If you don't like their vision, go play another games that share whatever inclusiveness you desire. There're a bunch of them on Steam.
He's a member of a fringe right wing political party but you are right about Catherine (Full body has the issue of deadnaming Erica, but that might just not be a thing in Japan.)
It's only P5 that got kinda weird with those jokes that are kinda dated even in Japan. The game also has a social link with a character who is pretty much Japanese Bernie Sanders so it's a land of contrasts.
