Are the English voice actors different?

I played the normal p4 on ps2 a long time ago, but somehow the voices in this one seem kinda different from what i recall?
Did they re-do the voice acting or am i wrong?

Chie is the only one re-done as far as I'm concerned

Chie and Teddie were both recast.

The new Teddie sounds EXTREMELY close to the original though.

I honestly prefer the original VA for Chie though. The new one is good and grows on you. She almost sounds like she has this Minnesota accent.

The VAs are all the same as the original version of Golden. The audio quality makes a couple characters sound a little different to me though.

The only ones that I know got changed are Chie, Due to her original actress retiring from voice acting entirely (Her new actress is better by the way) and Teddy due to the original actor not being available

Thats because Chie's Voice Actress is Canadian

I never played the original but to my knowledge only Chie had another voice cast. You can hear the comparison on Youtube. It seems to be split down the middle but I believe its just a case of which you played first and thats how you identify Chie as. Sort of like Nintendo or Sega or Tekken or Mortal Kombat. Whatever you experienced first you tend to stick with.

Personally I prefer the Golden VA because it gives Chie that energetic buzz. The original VA sounds quite mature for Chie. Although the Golden one might go a little too far in serious scenes but when it comes to normal days, casual mood thats where Chie shines.

Supposedly there is a mod that will restore the original VA for Chie in Golden but considering Golden has new scenes thats where the pickle lies. It might just have to be swapped in/out for the new one

I think some of Kanji's lines were also redone? But his is so close you wouldnt even notice, same with Teddie.

Chie is the only really different voice, but I prefer Golden's take.
