same with me... I changed my in game display settings to 1440p fullscreen but then had to restart game as I didn't turn on subtitles with Japanese audio, but now the game won't start at all, just a blank screen with not responding in the header.

Try English Audio. I recently changed it to Japanese audio mid game and then my game crashed. Switched it to English audio and then it works again.

If you've played around with the configurations menu and turned off Network Function, this might be causing the crashes. I had it turned off for the first couple hours and I constantly crashed whenever entering a new instance. Also, every time I restarted the game and checked the config menu from the main menu, I noticed that the Network Function automatically defaulted back to being on, which I think is what is causing the crashes. I turned Network Function back on and haven't crashed since So....

TLDR: Turn on Network Function from the Configurations Menu both in game and at the main menu. This worked for me so hopefully it works for you too!

If you had nvidia card: if you go to nvidia control panel > manage 3D settings > program settings > find P4G and then make sure graphics processor for this program is checked as high performance Nvidia processor.

Click apply and then everything seems much smoother and have no crashes where previously it always crashed.

Thank you! I had the same issue and this really helped.

I have the same problem. Using launch option -fullscreen got the game running, albeit after a not responding message that i clicked wait to respond on. Hypothetically you could change back to borderless and continuously use the launch command until (if) Atlas patches it.

Hi! I'm having the same crashing issue but I'm not seeing PG4 in my program settings?

Me having it on boarderless was fine. My issue with the game was that it crashes when I go to another location with the loading screen appearing. I think that this is an issue that other people are having and it is quite annoying. However I have found a way that can help with it:

1: in the main menu go to config
2: turn NETWORK FUNCTIONS (under game) off then confirm and turn it back on and confirm
3: turn V-SYNC (under graphic) off and confirm and turn it back on and confirm
4: load up the save file and try and go to another location with the loading screen popping up
5: if game crashes repeat these steps

NOTE: Sometimes the game works fine without having to do any of these steps.

other important things that I have checked that have helped to work around the crashing:
-turn SHADOWS off (don't know how or why that helped but i'm glad it did)
-have the RENDERING SCALE no more than 100% (I personally have kept it at 75%)
-resolution did not affect the game's chances of crashing to my knowledge however I recommend you to leave it alone at the standard 1920x1080
-ANISTROFIC filter off
-and ANTI-ALIASING off

This should help with the crashing issue HOWEVER it is important to know that this does not work 100% of the time, loading up the save file will work most of the time with a few crashes here and there, but when going to a new location with the loading screen, I had a 40-60% chance of the game working without crashes. How would I know that, well it's because I wasted my time to test it out roughly 10 consecutive times. so you would have a 50/50 chance of either a crash or a working game. However I think it all depends on the person's computer and hardware, I don't know, I'm not a tech wizard. I would love to hear your response so that we can fix this problem together. I have seen other methods of fixing the crashes and have really helped my situation so it is important to look at other people's solutions.

[copied from another thread in case it'll help people]

I also had random black screen crashes at random place in the games, downgrading nvidia driver to 522.xx fixed the issue (tried 3 different 526.xx all had the same issue). i'm using RTX 2060
