Could fan-made translations be possible?
I just playing P5r thanks to the Italian translation and I'm loving it.
But I think a game with such a large amount of text would be extremely tiring to play in a foreign language. (especially in the original Japanese language.)

Probably a localization in Italian would be asking too much for an 8-year-old game, but would a fan-made translation be possible, or denuvo prevent any kind of modification?

It is a pity that non-native English or Japanese speakers cannot enjoy this masterpiece as it deserves, and I would be happy to financially support a translation team.

English is really simple to learn. Why only Spanish and French people are always complaining about lack of their languages?
Do you really want to read the translation of the translation btw?

I'm sure it's possible but it would be an awful lot of work. These are tough projects.

Because English translations are often bad translated.
Lot of bad translations in games like Dark Souls or Final Fantasy.
And some editors now translate directly from japanese into other languages, without an english version between.

If you have fan translators that are translation from the source and doing it good, then you're right. It's better to play it this way. We don't have people like this in my country. And if someone is trying to translate something, it's always : Japanese->English (as you siad, in most cases it's already terrible)-> My language (and instead of fixing errors and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ English localization/culturalization, they are adding even more errors and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ unfunny memes from my country).

Simply because not being a native English speaker (Despite I'm writing and speaking english for 30 years), I should mentally translate from English (what others have translated from Japanese), and this requires a reasoning in the translation that prevents me to fully enjoying the game.

In addition, I could also make an effort to play an English or American product in the original language, but having to force myself to play a game in a foreign language that has nothing to do with my native language, nor with the language of the original work (And often of poor quality), makes no sense.

If English is so simple to learn, why can't native speakers learn it properly?

I'm interested too. I wasn't able to unpack the .pac files, how have you done it ?

With a couple of people, we would be interested in translating it in French since P5R grabbed the attention of a lot of rpg fans.

And about the "English is really simple to learn. Why only Spanish and French people are always complaining about lack of their languages?"

Maybe try to understand that people don't really have any care in learning a language just to play one game in their life, even more in the case of a Persona that basically contain hours of reading. I, myself basically work and speak English all day so I learned it naturally but I don't think I'll ever learn Spanish or Italian just because I want to read a book in this language.

Hi, sorry for the late answer, i've used the unpacker tool used for Neptunia ReBirth.
here:

Then i've found a really good community that have ALOT of tools for Persona 4: Amicitia

Here some links:
https://amicitia.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page
https://amicitia.github.io/game/p4

That said, i've been able to replace a simple dialog successfully.
Now i need to understand how i can do it programmatically because do it manually is pretty insane.

If an official localization should be asking too much, it would be nice if the developers offered at least a simple tool that allow users to easily produce a fan-made translation and upload it to the workshop.

Kind of a privileged thing to say... logistically speaking if you want an easier time with video games in general English is definitely the dominant language, but overall it's kind of stupid to just presume superiority.

TC is Italian and you literally say "only Spanish and French are always complaining about lack of their languages". LOL.

Aside from those three languages, also add German to the mix. FIGS has always been a standard in videogame language localization after all, so it's totally understable that speakers of those four languages claim about translations as it's the norm for them, not the exception which is what happens with other less widespread languages.
