HyperCore Demo 0.99A - Gamescom Demo

The HyperCore Demo has been Updated.

As I am showing the demo on Switch to gamescom, I updated the steam demo with all the new optimizations and features.

If you happen to be at gamescom, drop by the Indie Arena Booth, Hall 10.2, Booth F010g - E019

What's new :

Campaign Prologue : Play a 3 levels introductory sequence to the full game's campaign !

Ranked Play : Ranked is now separate from the core levels. In this demo, you'll be able to play Voodoo Riot in Track mode in 3 different difficulties (Novice, Intermediate and the new Expert difficulty).

The demo is fully working with the steam deck.

Future update to the demo will feature different levels in different modes. the final difficulty, Master, will only be playable in the full game.

Pleas enjoy the game and do not hesitate to rech out on Discord or in the discussion forums for any feedback !

Da fuq am I supoosed to do? Dodge all the stuf or hit it ? What is the dodge for ? What the heck focus does ? Why is controller recomended when you can't move fast enough with the cotroller ?

The HyperCore Demo has been Updated.

The four currently playable levels are :

Goodbye Planet (track) : Restore the biodata storage dashing through the cryostasis sector.
Voodoo Riot (Rail) : survive the bowels of the Tennenbaum Battle station.
Desolation (orbital): fight against the Thermal Regulator security Machine.
Skirmish (tube) : A glitch has corrupted Pris' databank ! Face this dangerous foe to stabilize her memories

Gameplay changes :

Focus Chain : successfully alternate between focus mode and perfect dodges to increase your chain level and drastically increase your combo, but beware, failing to connect will break the full combo chain !

The two currently playable levels are :

Hello Planet, set on a snowy pipeline
Anxiety Break, a fast paced dive into the communication systems of the ship

Additionally to this, we will be part of the Games made in France event (thurs. 09/23 - mon 09/26) where the game will be streamed and I will be interviewed on Sunday 25th, 18:50 CEST.

The demo will be active for the duration of the event !
Keys will be given to the best scores of each level by joining the discord and posting a screenshot of your score.

This game's intro stage feels like most rhythm games' final stages at highest difficulty.

As the title says. I don't know if this is intended, but for me it's way too hard. It doesn't help that my mouse is super sensitive. Game mechanics aren't well explained. How do we know when we're grazing bullets? What is considered the danger zone? What happens when your shields deplete? What are those colorful lines that sometimes appear on the track? Does the slowdown have a meter or sth? It kept activating and deactivating. Game is way too fast. The music feels very much like an afterthought with non...

When I launch it, the only option on the main menu is "How to play" but I can't find anywhere to click to start the game.

Track borders?

Tried the demo, and while this does feel better and more parseable than Audiosurf 2, the lack of a visual indication of the actual play area caused me no end of problems. There are a LOT of situations where it looks like you should be able to get around to the left or right of an obstacle, only to run into an invisible wall. Could we get a clear visual cue as to where the track's borders are?...
