Hadern axekatana is also great, it's a mix of speed or power.
normal two hander is most fairly balanced.
big zweihander and mace is nice for arcing swing, especially useful in crowding situation. You need to combine your Power attack combo with harden to make big enemy stagger though. these two I find it very hard to use. but very easy in virtuoso cycle.
also a good tip is to always spam golden bell and pop out the special atk if you're in an unfair situation. :D
If you like zweihander you can pwr atk combo and time the harden to stagger most enemies if I recall.
I normally dont use parry with it because I eco the resolve to use ice infusion xd
The game went from hard to easy the moment I unlocked it.
There is a bug, that would render you immobile till you die or will be forced out of your shell, when you use it's ability.
(For a reference, you can still run around with it's running attack in the Axe form, as it has the highest dps in the game)
Each weapon is pretty much unique and depends on it's active abilities.
My personal preference is Chiesel and Hammer, as it allows for some quality moveset with light-strong-light-light combo, that you can modify to move in-between the attacks. (+it has the right amount of stamina cost for Eredrim's pool)
