The Atmosphere
Did you like the atmosphere in the game? The post war setting with Cole and all the corrupted people in it? If so why?

Yes. I like it because it is an interesting time period that they chose and they did an excellent job of immersing the player into the game. The secret vehicles are awesome. I also like how as you progress in the game the war stories start to tie in with whatever it is you're doing.

I totally agree with WithouThEars.
I haven't made my mind about the secrets, but for instance the case where people hid behind 40's celebreties names was fun.
Cole's story and the relations with others and how all of them tie together in the end - brilliant.

I love the atmosphere. It's not the 21 century, and you don't have such equipment like fingerprint scanners like in CSI, which makes the game much more interesting.
The atmosphere was incredible. The map designers have outdone themselves creating Los Angeles in the post WW2 setting. The game itself was very immersive and the storyline was exciting. This game has left me with many great memories for which I am incredibly grateful for all of the work that was put into L.A. Noire.

It was breathtaking and really well done. The attention to detail was insane, and yeah I love the 40s-50s.
When you hit a car, the driver would get out and walk like he was hurt. When you go in restrooms, the smoke is visible at the ceiling. And LOTS of other stuff. But you only notice things like that when you take the time to actually LOOK at what the world looks like, and not when you rush from interrogation to interrogation.
Also, its clear the game world is too big: there are an insane amount of areas where you never have to be for the storyline, but they are still very detailed :D
For example a small river bedding behind a line of houses. Really insane, but its a shame they didn't take advantage of this.

I'm looking forward to more games in the 40s-50s.

I also think it's great. It was the first game I played with such realism in that time period and like Asgaro said, the detail is incredible. I like how Rockstar didn't just make a game with the realest things I've seen so far (sans Heavy Rain) but they made the relationships so intense, just as intense as the story. They didn't overdo the time period which was another huge plus as well. They just made it... genius. Hoping to see more impressive games like it (in both the actual time period and the overall feel to it and the atmosphere) in the future.

I must say, I never thought this game will be so good. I really liked the atmosphere, mainly because it was like watching and living in a detective/dirty cops/old school movie. Really awesome! Also, the game is sometimes very difficult and overally very very long, which is a big plus.

I also like the atmosphere that immerses us "LA Noire". It's almost magical what got the guys from Rockstar Games. A very good game that deserves a chance to be played and enjoyed by many people.

I really like the atmosphere and just love the whole 40'/50's thing in general. I've played most of the GTA games and I'm not a huge fan, but I feel like LA Noire really pulled everything together to make a really enjoyable and immersive gaming experience, with an interesting story to boot.

Currently playing it right now. At first it was just another game I was trying to power through just for the sake of finishing. But by the time I finished homicide I started looking forward to my cases. By the end of Narcotics I was completely sucked in to the atmosphere, the characters, all of it. I'm really curious as to whats going to happen next.
