Do You Play In Black & White or Color?
Personally I love playing L.A. Noire in B&W, just because it feels like a whole cinematic experience. Plus it suits the name as well noir. :B1:

color, though black and white did seem appealing for the vintage 1940's feel it would bring.

Colour, I find it hard to see detail in black and white

Seems like some people don't agree with you. For me it is depending on my mood.

It's easier to tell is something is blood with the color on, so I leave it on. If I could do black, white, and red, I would.

Oh yea that would be great indeed. Who will contanct the developers and tell them to add black/white/red for the next update?

When I first played it, I used color (didn't finish). I started over and played in B&W only and finished the game, and now I'm replaying it in color.

Too bad my achievements didn't sync up properly, since I had to play in offline mode since I didn't have internet access for a while.

I prefer color, but I like the look of the B&W flashbacks, so I might do the whole thing B&W at some point.

I've been meaning to try it in B&W, but I must ask; does B&W mode also add static/film grain? (Just to give it a complete Film Noir feel)

No, the only static film parts are in the flashback sequences during Cole's WWII memories. Otherwise its just a black a white filter.

I turned off the black and white filter when the game told me I could go through gold handle doors.

I play in B/W. There are moments when it looks like a Film Noir movie and then there are not. The biggest issue in black and white, other than the visual hints not being discernable is the fact that the game's art direction wasn't specifically designed for grayscale. Because of that lots of objects have the same value and lighting washes things out at times. Nonetheless, it's worth it for the experience as well as the challenge, in my opinion.
