Same problem here. Had the endless synchronizing problem ever since i bought it during the winter sale(?), which was a long time ago. Doesnt seem to have been a concrete fix for it yet. I've just kind of given up already at this point

Decided to revisit the issue earlier and reinstalled the social club or whatever that crap is called. Seemed to fix the issue for me. You guys might want to give it a try.

Some other ways to fix it on that page too, but only the reinstallation of the social club worked for me.

I got the same problem but installing social club didn´t solve the problem. I also checked the files with steam.
I hope someone can help me out.

Oh I forgot to mention that I also tried verifying the cache (which didnt work, told me that there was a file that needed to be reaquired), and reinstalling the whole game (deleted the local files and re downloaded it) before I reinstalled the social club.

Not really sure if it was a culmination of the above steps or just a subset of it but it seemed to work for me. Working fine now.

Hope that helps.

Got It !!!! After trying everything else, the simplest thing worked for me. What I did was Right click on your Steam icon on your desktop or where ever you have it, go to Properties, and click on Compatibility. Make sure it is NOT running it as Administrator and that you are NOT running it in any Compatibility mode at all. DO THIS FOR ALL USERS Too, Then click Apply..

Mine was set to run in XP compatibility under the All users settings in properties. Don't know why because I never set it up like that. But this worked for me. Just make sure nothing is set in any kind of compatibility. Hope this helps.

4. Compatibility options set incorrectly on Steam. Make sure that Steam is not set to use Compatibility features.

Browse to your Steam installation (Usually C:\Program Files\Steam\)
Right click on Steam.exe, choose Properties.
Click on the Compatibility tab.
Uncheck any boxes that are checked, and click Apply.
Then, click the "Show settings for all users" button.
Again, make sure none of these boxes are checked, and click Ok.
Click Ok to close any open dialog boxes.
Double click on Steam.exe to launch Steam.

Compatibiliy (mode?) was on vista.

fixed it for me..
