Transferring Saves?
I only used a default account on Social Club when I first played this game. Since I've started I got a new computer, and assumed since Steam recognized or stored my saves on all my other games that it would on this one too. Unfortunately that's not the case. When I first launched it on my new computer it created a new default account on Social Club and none of my data was stored, even though before launching it Steam displayed on the menu how long I've played and what achievements I've acquired. I have a folder of saves in the documents of my old computer under Documents/Rockstar Games/ La Noir, and transferred them to my new one, but it won't read. I had to rename the folders in order to transfer them since they all had the same name. Since I accidently moved them out of place when copying them in my old computer I tried to put them back in place, but now even my old computer won't read the data.
Even if I transfer the saves and put them in the right spot, will it still read it under the default account? What am I doing wrong, or is there simply nothing to be done? Does Steam not have any of the data aside from length played and achievements earned?

Those statistics are handled via Steam, that is why they will follow you wherever you go with your account. I noticed that saves don't transfer over if you use a different Social Club account. I loaded it up to show a friend, but used the default account and didn't have my saves. I didn't try logging into my R* account. That may have worked, had you created one. Not all games are set up to use the Steam cloud. Some games use their own cloud saving, and some do not have a form of cloud saving available.

If you can remember what files you changed the names of, you should try changing them back and confirming that they run on your previous computer. Then move the save data on the new computer to a new location, and copy your old save folders into the new computer's directory. Maybe the auto login file in the profile data can get you in.

I havn't played the game in a while and when I loaded it today, I had to create a "social club" account which seems to have wiped out my save. Why do they even bother with this junk :/
