Could not locate L.A. Noire game executable

I get this error message when I try to start the game. I have re installed it twice already. every time I hit view integrity of files, it fines 8.9mb worth of files missing, and patches them, this will either continue in a loop, or eventually Ill get the above error message again.

Try run the game binary directly from the steam folder - Steam\SteamApps\common\L.A.Noire
If it fails try running the updater directly as well.

Steam will look for a version 1.00 executable and will fail integrity test when you update the game at first launch.

Apparently Norton was deleting the files needed while not being activated yet. So I activated Norton so I could set the acceptions, worked like a charm
